i have 2 parakeets, 2 cockateils, a quacker, and a severe mini macaw... they ALL love the peppers...
a study was done to see what foods birds like the most and it was chillies... if a bird doesnt take to a feed, they said to sprinkle some chillie fakes on it and it piques their interest.
but, it depends on the bird, so leace it in the bird's cage and see how it reacts (dried chillies are a good start).

Chillies are not a natural food to the cockatiel. They will most likely reject them anyway. I ask you what is the purpose of considering this ? As a breeder of some 200 pairs here in Australia I feed tiels Millet, some sunflower and radish seed but never as well as spinach silver beet and cabbage leaves with some apple or apricot in season.Chillies? Leave that for canaries!

Do not feed your cockatiel chillies. I am a person who thought it was okay until my bird got really ill. Think of it this way. If the bird was in the wild he/she wouldnt choose to eat a hot food like that. It burns the mouth and can cause serious problems!!! Trust me on this one

Find out from a vet before you give different food to it
A vet will tell you all the healthy food!!
you can just ring them up & ask
chillies are not native to australia & cockatiels are native to australia so they dont spread the seeds at all

Birds don't have the receptors to feel heat from chillies, so they should be fine. Chilies are designed to be dispersed by birds anyways...

I don't think it would be good for them either. It sounds like something that might mess their digestive system up, somewhat.
