so, it just went to the bottom of the cage and layed one egg. How does bird reproduction work? What should we do with the egg? It doesn't have a mate but there is a parakeet in the same cage with a wire wall between them. Could they have...? What do you think?

We are thinking about getting a macaw, we know the one we want and the kind, we see it 24/7 in the pet shop, and its a fantastic bird, the other day we went in and it was copying my little bro. and it was a really sweet bird. Yes we know how long they live for, and we are willing to take the best possible care for it. We wanted to know that if you got one, could you train it? Like to not crap on you. And crap in its cage. And not bite. If you know any websites that can tell you how to teach your pet, or other information on traning them, that would be great!
Thanks

It keeps streching it's neck and opening it's mouth. He's not making any noise. It kind of looks like choking. He's new so usually when we come close to him he stops doing whatever he was doing and stares at us. But when we come close now he still keep doing this. Is this just what birds do?

I am BobbysMama. I bought Bobby from a couple who said the parrot would be friendly with the man but hissed at and bit the woman. Now Bobby is biting my roommate. Bobby will actually climb off her cage to go bite my roommate ! But even tho she (Bobby) chews and nips me, she's not seriously biting me. In fact, Bobby is very attached to me and allows me to handle her anyway I choose. Upside down is a favorite play activity. and she shows me this by playing and getting excited when I speak to her. thank you for responding to my question....

My parakeet is about one year old. She seems lonely and I was thinking about getting her a friend. I know I'll have to get a larger cage, but should the new bird be male or female?
