human beings are "nekkid" Animals interior the wild come finished with fancy feathers, or different staggering features which in many situations are used as area of the mating ritual, the place the male desires to coach the female what a superb healthful fellow he's. A ill, poorly, diseased male animal may be unable to compete for mating rights, that's a sturdy element because of the fact it makes beneficial that his perchance risky genes don't get exceeded on. In some species which contain particularly reptiles, staggering colours are a warning sign to different creatures who might desire them for lunch, that they have got deadly defence mechanisms..... such because of the fact the snake's chew, or in a species of frog, a perilous poison that it may squirt. yet another clarification why in many creatures, the female is far less fairly and considerable than the male is for an fairly sturdy objective. She is the guy who is going to be nurturing the toddlers, so that's significant she be as inconspicuous as conceivable the place she lays up in her nest along with her brood yet there are nonetheless a variety of of animals the place there is particularly little distinction between the visual charm of the male and the female. In human beings, if certainty be told, apart from some anatomical features bearing directly to the two sexes, bare there truly isn't all that lots of a distinction between the male and the female physique. Social conditioning, over the years, has led us to make judgements with regards to the variety of adornments with drape ourselves with, men a definite way, women human beings yet differently. yet even that's often changing as human beings's type alternatives replace.

Ok, I agree with much of what was said above. But, let's forget the science part of your question. You asked why males birds/animals were more attractive than females. By our 'human' eyes this might be the case. but do you think it is the case with the birds eyes? I'm sure it is not. I'm sure that the male birds find the females to be much more attractive than other males. :) Which could possibly mean that human males are actually the more attractive ones in a birds eye view. We shall never know eh?

In nature, female birds are the ones who choose the mate. Birds can see in color, so the more colorful the male, it's more likely that a female will choose that male for a mate, although some birds do judge on other things as well. There's even a type of bird where the female will pick her mate based on how green his nest is. As for humans, we are just born that way.

In animals, the males are better looking because there bright colors will attract predators and the male can lead it away from the female (also it helps with attracting mates) and the young, while the female's darker colors hide her in the surroundings. In humans, we're just not that lucky I guess.

I think I'm pretty and colorful, what are you talking about? Seriously, I think the males are colorful by necessity. Females in the wild are just a breeding tool and don't need to be pretty like human females do I'm not sure why the males are colorful, maybe it makes them look more aggressive to other animals.

This is caused by sexual selection, or the female choosing the best or "prettiest" mate as the best potential for producing viable offspring. This does occur in humans as well, women don't just choose any guy on the street. They look for features that they find attractive and then those features get passed on to the offspring. It happens the same way in all species that are sexually dimorphic (the sexes look different)

Males use their bright colours to set off a display for the females because the female makes the ultimate decision in who her mate will be. If the male's display is poor, he doesn't get to breed and that's against his instinct - he has to do everything in his power to try and get a mate for the breeding season.

with animals the female has to be darker to protect itself from predetors while with its pup kits or eggs. and the males are brighter and more colorful to attract mates. like cardinals and peacocs the males are brighter and more decorative and the females are dull and brown to blend in with the environment
