If your going to raise chickens then you want to wait till spring and buy the chicks. You can get them at you local IFA store or farmers/Ranchers supply store. If you want to buy the full grown chicken I'm not sure how you'd go about that. Check with local farmers (chicken farmers) and ask if they'd sell you a couple.
4-H details you can get by typing in 4-H into your browser. However, as far as I know they don't sell chickens!

It seems you are about to start a 4-H project, so you are going to need to be more specific and start researching before you buy. Go to your local library or bookstore or website (http://www.ansi.okstate.edu/poultry/chickens/index.htm, for chicken breeds) for information FIRST.

Then, when you know what type of chicken you need, then log in to Yahoo Answers and ask the next question. And when you do, be as specific as possible. For example, 6 white leghorn "pullets", 2 black breasted red old english game "starters", etc. Don't know what some of the terms mean? Well, then that proves you need to do the research and start learning about chickens so that you succeed in your 4-H project(s).

Please let us know what your next question will be and let us know how your project plans are going. Good luck.
