during may i took a running class. though i have always been somewhat in shape this class is what put me in shape. i was able to run 5 miles a day while enjoying the nice 80 degree weather. since june 9th i have ran probably 5 times , but i did aerobic ecersise tapes instead. yester day it was 114 degrees and i tried to run but it felt impossible. i felt completely out of shape. is this due to the weather? if i ran in the morning or at 8pm when tis cooler would it be easier for me?

i am 16 years old and have been lifting wieghts for about 6 months steadily. i am trying to get ready for football and as the season gets closer i am trying to get stronger faster. i want to lift upper body twice a day, once in the morning and then once when i go to the school weight room around 4 o'clock. then the next day i wanted to do the same thing only except with my lower body. i was plannin on doin this 6 times a week alternatin days of lower and upper body. i read things that say you need to give your mucles enough time to recover and i was wondering if about 8 hours is enough time. i was also planning on buying whey protein to help bulk up.

I'm 15 years old, 5'4", and I weight 93 pounds. I have the ectomorph body type so its near impossible to gain weight. Now I dont need people telling me that weight will come naturally when I'm older, because it won't. Its genetics. I don't really care about muscle right now, just fat. I think that getting up to 103 pounds would be good for me. My birthday is July 16, and it would be awesome if I could gain the weight by then. But that is probably unhealthy, so I can extend the goal date to August 14 (when school starts for me).

So how do I go about doing this?

I am considered very overweight; however, I exercise one hour a day and play tennis 2x a week for three hours (for the past 6 months). Yet, when I am eating anything, people will say "Do you want to go walking after lunch?" And no, I don't advertise to everyone I know about my exercise regime (don't want the haters to hate the player and not the game! LOL)

I over did it on my exercises, and now when I walk my calves hurt. Just moving my feet make them hurt. Should I put ice on them or will a hot compress help? I already took some painkillers, but it's not relieving the pain.~Thanks

That there is no replacement for a well balanced diet and exercise. I'm scrolling through the list of questions in the "diet and fitness" section and it seems like every other question is about what supplement will help them lose fat faster. Not to mention some stupid soup diet promising a certian amount of weigh loss??? Seriously, if you look at that diet in detail you will notice that the sodium intake is so low, you will drop about 10lbs of stored water within a week no matter what you weigh.

Am I the only one that appreciates a fit lifestyle? Or in other words, am I that rare that I don't mind working to have a great looking body? I mean seriously folks, it's worth the work. It's summer time and I've paid my dues, don't for one second think those guys with the 6 pack abs got that way by accident or just by having good genetics.

Good luck with your endeavors but keep in mind, there is no substitue for hard work and a good WELL BALANCED diet.
