1. Calculate how many calories you need to maintain your current body weight and how many you need to lose fat. A good site to do this is www.freedieting.com. Click on the calculator on the left hand side and choose the "calorie calculator."
2. Once you've established how much you need to eat to lose weight, do your research. I can not emphasis this enough. I would highly recommend investing in a food guide book to break down how many calories/carbs/fats/proteins are in a particular food. It will give you a good framework to figure out what you you get from what particular food. Read labels on everything you buy. A lot of time stuff that sounds healthy for you isn't. When in doubt, "shop the perimeter" of your grocery store. Most of the geniunely healthy stuff (fruits, veggies, dairy, etc.) is kept on the outside rim of the store, not in the center aisles.
3. I would also recommend measuring and writing down everything you put in your mouth. It sounds a little tedious, but keeping track of what you eat makes you more accountable. Measuring your food helps you determine what correct portions look like and again keeps you honest about the number of calories you are consuming.
4. Exercise. (You knew this was coming, right.) I don't particularly like to exercise either, but it is vital for weight loss. If you are looking at losing that much weight, you'll need to start slowly. Build up to walking 4-5 times a week for 30-60 minutes at a time. Incorporate strenght training into your routine. You don't have to join a fancy or expensive gym to get results. For me, I found I'm best motivated to exercise when my husband is with me. If he's not available, my iPod makes for good company too. ;-) For you, it might be different. Try several different activities to find what is interesting to you and remember, any exercise is better than none at all.
5. Find a support group. It might be friends and family, but you can also look into more formal ones like Weight Watchers or Overeaters Anonymous.
6. Remember that any positive changes you make now will only benefit you in the long run. Weight loss can be a frustrating process. Aim to lose around 2 pounds a week and you'll be at your goal in no time. Good luck and God bless!

It depends on how much you weigh now. If 75lbs will take u to your ideal weight than no. If you are really over weight than yes. As long as you stick to a regular schedule of exercise and eat the right amount of food. You can eat the foods u like but in smaller portions.

it is possible because you are so young, but what you really need to do is cut back all the fried foods and sugary foods, just change your eating habits, exercise at least 2-3 times a week(start by power walking, then a slow jog, and then as the weeks go by and you get more comfortable with it, pick the pace up to a light run.) ALWAYS drink 64.oz of water or more, water flushes out the fat and drink green tea, or take green tea pills but you have to eat right and exercise in order to see maximum results, green tea burns fat. I have recently started my diet and it's been about 3 weeks and I've lost 19 lbs, just by eating right, exercising, drinking water (64.oz +), and taking green tea pills. But i hope this works for you just as it has for me, because im young too, im only 17. but it's working and i feel better and better each day!

First, it is mostly not your fault that you need to lose weight. The way that you have been taught to eat is responsible (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) for making obesity the #1 health problem in the world behind hunger and infectious disease. So you are a victim of this pandemic (epidemic).
You need to learn a whole new way to eat. Below site has that info. Find out the absolute quickest way to lose weight, slow ways to lose weight and how to lose bodyfat, retained water and a 3rd thing. Learn about anti-water which makes water unable to work. Take the time to learn everything on below site. Do this and you can be thin. Do this not and be part of this pandemic.

This is what worked for me. My Dr. recommened The Medifast Diet. It is Soy Protein. It teaches you to eat 5-6 small meals a day every 2-3 hours to speed up your metabolism. You will lose weight quickly with very little exercise. I have lost 35 lbs. so far. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. lovejae247@yahoo.com

That's alot of weight-probably won't happen.
Start dieting and exercising and see what happens. I've heard it takes about nine months to make a major difference in your life.
