I only use a tiny bit of it in cooking, but never leave it out on the kitchen table.

What condiments do you keep out on the table?
We eat authentic Mexican food a lot, so we keep salsa and salt on our kitchen table every day. That's it.

My son's school is having a bake sale run by the kids in his class. They're raising money for charity. Anyway, the bake sale will be attended by other kids from preschool up through junior high. I'm afraid a lot of people will be doing the standard chocolate chip cookies and brownies, so I want to stay away from those. What else has mass kid appeal? Thanks!

Anybody remember who made chocolate peanut butter? I know reeses has peanut butter but it wasn't them. I know there were 3 different flavors out at the same time and they came in small jars. I'm thinking Peter pan or Jif. Do you know if they still make it and where I can get some? That stuff was great for making cookies and candy.

I was blending some spinach and I guess it was forcing the blender to work really hard, because I started smelling something like a burning smell, and then I noticed that my blender was kind of smoking a little bit.
It's cooled off now and I dont see any visible signs of damage.
Do you think I've busted my blender? Or will it be okay?
Would it be dangerous to plug it back in and try to use it again?

Okay, I think I've gone overboard with my recently discovered love of cooking and searching for new exciting recipes to try. I now have 8 three ring notebook binders FULL of recipes. I am a very methodical organized person. So I have then sorted into catagories. (chicken, beef, pasta, vegetable, & etc.) I have composed complete menus in weekly sections for 3 months in advance without using the same recipe twice. This encludes desserts and baked breads. I have shopping lists made out for each menu week. My question? What can I do with all this work?

I live in central valley in California. I have seen many recieps for red current jelly or Cassis, but I have never seen or tasted a red, white or black current. Where do they grow?
Also is there any fruit /veggie that you have heard of, seen in recipes that is not available where you are?

Mulberries, 6 cups, picked minutes before
Lemon Juice, 2 tablespoons
Cider Vinegar, 1 tablespoon
Corn Starch, 1-3 tablespoons (however thick you want it--can use tapioca)
Sugar, half cup (Splenda will adequately substitute)
Cinnamon, 1 teaspoon
Nutmeg, half teaspoon
Allspice, half teaspoon
Vanilla Extract, quarter teaspoon
Two pie crusts

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wash mulberries and remove very unripe berries. Stir vinegar and lemon juice together with mulberries. Stir in cornstarch. Add sugar, spices, and vanilla, stir together. Lay out bottom pie crust in 9 inch pan. Pour and spread berry mix into crust. Cover with top pie crust. Slit upper crust in various spots. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Bake until done.
