I was blending some spinach and I guess it was forcing the blender to work really hard, because I started smelling something like a burning smell, and then I noticed that my blender was kind of smoking a little bit.
It's cooled off now and I dont see any visible signs of damage.
Do you think I've busted my blender? Or will it be okay?
Would it be dangerous to plug it back in and try to use it again?

Its important to remember that blenders are not food processors. Blenders usually don't chop or blend very well unless ther's adequate liquid. Chances are, your blender overheated. Make sure its unplugged, inspect where the blade scews into the base to see if it was loose. Perhaps the blade wasn't rotating properly. Check for any water leaks in case of water damage. Also, inspect the cord to see any signs of damage. Its best not to attempt using it again- for safety precautions.

Reduce the amount of spinach in the blender (dump it in a bowl and only try to re-blend the larger leaves) then try again and use the pulse setting not puree to begin to chop. If you didn't let it "burn" to long it should be OK. Remember when chopping large items in a blender to pulse until it is small enough to puree. In most cases it is easier to prechop so this won't happen again. Good Luck!

Give it a shot. It will probably be fine. Just keep an eye on it the next time or two you use it. Don't try to force the blender or any other product to do more work than it was built for.

It won't be "dangerous", but be prepared for it to not work anymore.

You won't be killed, but likely your blender may not work any more.
