I am trying to make soda bread, that is with white flour, wholemeal flour and baking powder. Mabye I am getting the preportions wrong but it never rises much and it is often not cooked in the centre resulting in me having to split it and re cook the uncooked halves up. Mabye I can make it with bread soda and cream of tartar. but I dont want to use buttermilk since I want it to be suitable for vegans. does it make any difference if i use soya margurine or olive oil or neither?

Because I noticed that everytime I grilled chicken on a rotisserie it becomes very dry when it becomes cold even I reheat it on a microwave it looses its tenderness.

We got a cheap little bar-b-que grill that is about 10 inches from the ground and it is small. My husband filled the grill with more charcoal than I think he should have for such a small grill. When the hamburgers were done we were all excited...until we took a bite and tasted nothing but bitter charcoal. Is it because he put too much charcoal in? (Probably) but any suggestions on how to cook good bar-b-que with a cheap grill will help, thanks.

It was here when we moved in. I smells wonderful and has a great taste. Is this the same mint you can use with tea/sweet tea and drinks like that? And can you use it to cook with if a recipe call for mint (crushed mint)?

THANKS FROM.....pinkstuff

I am going to make grape freezer jam, and the recipe says to store the jam in plastic containers. Does it have to be in plastic, or can I store the jam in glass jars? What will happen if I put it in glass? Thanks.

I'm just trying to make a themed cake for my daughter, so we're putting two boxed cake mixes together in a 14" round cake pan. How long should I bake it? (Normal time for two 8" round pans is 30-37 minutes at 350 degrees... I'll have it in the convection oven at 335 degrees, but unsure how to alter baking time and haven't found any help online.)

Cooking fish sticks for dinner and don't really have anything to go with it. Mac & cheese? Pork & beans? Potatoes? I don't have any french fries or anything like that. I don't feel like going to the store. Name something and I will see if I get lucky and have it in the pantry.
