I'm just trying to make a themed cake for my daughter, so we're putting two boxed cake mixes together in a 14" round cake pan. How long should I bake it? (Normal time for two 8" round pans is 30-37 minutes at 350 degrees... I'll have it in the convection oven at 335 degrees, but unsure how to alter baking time and haven't found any help online.)

use your instincts on when you feel your cake should be ready. Yeah, bake it at 335 degrees and I'd say for 14", 45 mins?

Its really hard to say. You just have to keep your eye on the cake. When you feel its starting to look thoroughly cooked on top, do the toothpick test. Take a toothpick or a skewer and poke it in the cake. If it comes out clean, it's ready. If it comes out wet with some cake batter, leave it in a bit longer.

I suggest you look at the Wilton Cake baking guide under cake preparation at Wilton.com, so you get the right guidance for your size pan and quantity of batter. But I think you'll find 50 - 55 minutes for a 14" round 2" tall, but 75 to 85 minutes for a 3" tall pan at 325 F.

hello..i happen to be a student at a pastry school..hehe..well..if you bake it at 350 degrees, keep on checking it..try poking a toothpick in the middle of the cake and if the toothpick comes out clean, and if it also springs back to touch, then its done.. it doesn't even matter what degrees just make sure the toothpick comes out clean and it springs to touch...
