I asked a question theother day about salted and unsalted butter in regard to baking. Thanks to all who helped me out.

What about Margarine for baking. What would that be classed as - salted or unsalted?

okay,
since it says in this recipe to to have unsalted butter, well i only have salted and the rule of thumb if you don't have unsalted is to omit 1/4 tsp of salt per 1/2 butter.

how much do i use i'm bad at this metric stuff

i have 1/2 tsp of salt
and it says 3/4 c. unsalted butter

I know NOTHING about cooking. I know I have to boil the pasta (according to instructions at the back).
But then what? Do I just add it all together in one big pot? Do I need to add any oil or salt?
How long should I cook it for?

Also, how much sauce for a 100gm of pasta?

I always cook for the 4 of us, we've had roast goose for the last 3 years and I would like to do something different. I'm a good cook and don't mind something not simple, and meat, fish or vegetarian considered. I need to get planning now.

How can I make a spicy pasta salad? My friend makes this amazing spicy mackeral pasta salad to take to uni and its full of vegetables, and I want to take one too. She gives me a bite and I'm like gobbling the whole thing. She said she uses spices to achieve flavour but when I do it I get a mouthful of curry powder :S
