How can I make a spicy pasta salad? My friend makes this amazing spicy mackeral pasta salad to take to uni and its full of vegetables, and I want to take one too. She gives me a bite and I'm like gobbling the whole thing. She said she uses spices to achieve flavour but when I do it I get a mouthful of curry powder :S

The trick to a good pasta salad is putting a good amount of salt into the water when it comes to a boil let it cook for about 7-9 minutes.
Then drain it and run some cold water over it to stop cooking, when you make your salad dressing: do it in a separate bowl:
add in fresh chopped or minced garlic and onion, salt, pepper to taste, some crushed red pepper for heat, fresh parsley, and approximately 2-3 tablespoons of good olive oil, and a 1-2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, mix all of this together and add your pasta and vegetables cooked, but cooled, mix well and for added flavor you can include a sprig of mint and some arugula. Refrigerate overnight (or an hour )in a covered container so that all of the flavors can meld into the pasta.

Mrs. Dash has a new Chipotle Seasoning that is amazing! You can also use a scoop of horseradish (the real thing) or some Wasabi to spice up your macaroni! A small can of green chili's is another option. You choose the veggies and the pastas! The choices are endless! Happy dining! Don't forget the Mayo! Nana
