I want to know how to smoke ribs over hickory. I'm not interested in cooking it in the house first, or using charcoal. I'm talking about ribs that have been smoked in wet heat for about eight to 12 hours.

I have the ribs, some hickory chips, and a round barbeque thingy with a metal grill and an air vent.

I ate real hickory smoked ribs recently, in Arkansas, at a place that had a smokehouse in the back.

How can I approximate this with basic and simple equipment?

I don't really know how to explain it but a cookbook that went say: "indian" starter, main and dessert
"greek" starter main and dessert
and so on. I would have a couple for each theme.

I heard that steaming veggies is healthier and less calories. Why is that? I don't understand why the same vegetable can get more calories when cooked a different way.

I was just curious......why do some shows show the labels on food such as Barefoot Contessa and other shows have to make phony labels to hide the brand names such as 30 Minute Meals?

I love sushi and would like to start making it at home. For those of you out there who make it from scratch....

-there are many rice cookers out there, any specific brand names you'd recommend that makes the rice just perfect for rolling sushi?
-how much cooked rice do you need to make enough sushi for four people?
Thanks!

Whenever I buy brownies in a bakery, or even when my friends/family make them and bring them to parties, they are perfectly flat and square. When I make mine the tops aren't flat, it raises up in the middle, and the edges curve up

My hubby and I went to the Melting Pot a while ago. While there we had a Fondue that was a main course and I think it may have been called Coca Von. I have tried to recreat it with no luck. I know that it was a broth with wine, garlic and mushrooms in it. I don't know if I am missing something or have the amounts wrong. Can anyone help?

I would really like to make some so I just found a recipe, but it includes 1 package of dry Hidden Valley Ranch. I don't have that, don't feel like going to get that ONE thing, & it doesn't sound too appealing in taco soup of all things. Do I really need it?

Do you use velveeta or cheddar when making homemade mac & cheese? I've seen more recipes with cheddar, I would think velveeta would give it a smoother creamier taste. What is your preference?
