I was told by an friend that if you mix a tablespoon of Cream of Tartar and water and drink it that it would kill you. Is this true?

Cream of tartar is used in all sorts of baked goods. Why don't people drop dead from eating the goods?

No. Cream of Tartar is a natural, pure ingredient left behind after grape juice has fermented to wine.

Not sure how that is supposed to work. It's a fairly common ingredient in baking. So I don't see how it could be that easily lethal.
