my dad has been put on a new diet for the severe migraines he is getting and alot of the things he would usually eat have been excluded one of these is tomatoes, so anything like spag bol, lasagne, pizza etc he cannot have. we have tried really hard to adjust our foods and find alternatives but we desperately need some help in finding something different to use on a pizza instead of tomatoes.

I would love to have some old recipes. Some like old grandmother recipes or recipes from the 70's. I love to cook, but my family likes to eat out. Would love to have as many as I can, so we can stay home and eat.

Sometimes we get caught-up in our own habits and routines for making food dishes . I love to make rice and just wanted to hear what you do to make your rice all that more unique and tasty .
Thank you .

I need something new. I don't want anything where the hot dog is served on a bun. No chili, baked beans, mac n cheese, or saurkrout (sp?). Nothing with the hot dogs cut up, cut in half would be ok but I don't want any sort of casserole dish.

For the past few years I have made a stuffed Crown Pork Roast for Christmas Eve dinner. Before that I have made Prime Rib, Turkey, Ham, or a combination thereof. My side dishes have varied from year to year, and have included creamed corn, Parmesan mashed potatoes, roasted rosemary potatoes, green salad, carrots, and asparagus.

This year I want to come up with something new. My husband likes to serve something a little more elegant at Christmas Eve while we have the family sitting together. There are usually about a dozen of us all together. Any suggestions (and recipes!) would be greatly appreciated.

I know it may seem early to be making this decision, but I like to get my plan together early.

Thanks!

preferably for chicken and rice recipes, i have open access to that. and as many as possible too, because my dogs seem sick of kibble. something new for once!... or twice... well you get it. and i dont have any weird spices and crap like rosemary, my parents arent really the gourmet chef type, so keep it simple too. best answer to the person who gives me the most recipes that i have all the ingredients to. (btw, i have a few cucumbers too.) THX!

Hi,
So I just had a flashback to like 10 years ago when I lived w/ a Jewish family in Illinois. We went 2 a SuperBowl party @ the synagogue & I, of course, was not interested in football. So I ended up playing bingo w/ a bunch of like 90 yr old women.

Don't get me wrong, it was actually quite fun. I had a good time. I am just trying 2 paint u a picture here.

So, all the guys & some of the gals are in 1 room with a big screen tv watching the game & the rest of the gals (mostly old ones) r in the social hall playing bingo & having a great time. (I won a pill crusher!! Woot, woot!)

Anyhow, this old lady came along passing out treats & I took this chocolate something-or-other. It seemed like a cross between cake & brownies. It was so different than anything I had ever had b4.

I asked what it was & was told it was "Jewish Brownies". That is all I remember.

Does anyone have this recipe? I would love 2 try and make them!

Oh, I just love it when good memories come back!!!

Is there any reason why I couldn't bake it in a 8" or 9" cake pan? Would I have to change anything other than baking time?

Thanks!

I am looking for some new foods to cook for my family. But we are on a VERY tight budget and are not exactly "expert" cooks. Just something easy. Any websites to recommend with simple recipes??
