Why not with toe jam?

OK, seriously, why is it served with chips? Why not chicken or mutton chops?

I was and from a source (I'll never tell!)usually so reliable that it surprised me

The directions were to beat the finished cake (after the flour is added, that is), a genoise (made with beurre noisette ~slurp!) 100 strokes. As I was reading, I kept thinking, "No, no .... 100 strokes is for hair, not cake batters!"

You know what I did? I went right ahead, deciding they knew better than I .... but you know what? They didn't! (sniff, sniff!)

Now, please tell me yours!!!

Peace & Love

I use Italian dressing a lot.I let it divide, then use the oil part for stir fries and regular smother frying.Great and the seasoning is already in the oil.The bottom half is for salads and marinating meats..Thanks in advance..

I'm getting ready to make homemade chicken noodle soup (for the first time) for my sick daughter. I'm wondering what herbs go well in chicken noodle soup? Thanks much!

I want to get a new set of pots and pans. I have heard that aluminum and the non-stick coatings are not good for you health wise, so I want to avoid these. Cost is not really an issue. I don't want to spend only a few bucks and get a real cheap set. Also, I want a set where the handles don't get hot and you have to use a pot holder to handle them. Thanks in advance!

I really want to become a good cook, but I don't want to go to school for it. I've been learning how to cook from a Betty Crocker cookbook and a Japanese Cuisine cookbook. They are good books in my opinion. I only want to learn how to become a good cook so that I can feed myself and impress my dates. Am I doing the right thing? Learning from a cook book? What else can I do?

I have my final in Baking & Pastry coming up, and I need a dessert with atleast three components. Atleast one component has to be baked... I have no idea what to do. I'm looking for any ideas, just keep in mind I am NOT good with pie crust. ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Also, this is a "beginner" class, not there's no like pulled sugar going on and stuff like that.

I want to find an easy way to give away a cheesecake without worrying about getting my metal springform base back. I thought of putting a cardboard round in the bottom, but I don't know if you can bake on that, or should I just use a parchment round? Or do you have a better suggestion?

My husband needs to eat better and get weight down (too much buying fat-food for lunch at work--we're changing that). Our kids are small and skinny and picky eaters. Husband and I would like to eat better and are tired of the only foods our kids seem to like--pasta (ravioli, spaghetti, fettucine, and macaroni and cheese), PBJ sandwiches, pizza, and fruit. Don't get me wrong, we like these things but our kids make it hard to eat anything else. My two daughters will eat meat, my son won't unless it is a chicken nugget or he's starving to death. My daughters will eat some veggies but the only one I've gotten my son to eat is corn. I need ideas on meals that are kid-friendly, healthy, and cheap to make.
