in some recipes it says just before putting into the oven i should swirl it, but in som it says to leave the mixtures alone and they will combine naturally in the oven.

which one is correct, bcause i really want that 'marblized' swirly effect

I made little gingerbread 'Easter Eggs' for the children in my class and don't plan to give them out until Thursday (5 days old). Will they still be okay by then, or should I give them out tomorrow (3 days old)? The ingredients were:
-butter
-brown sugar
-golden syrup
-plain flour
-baking powder (bicarb soda)
-ground cinnamon
-ground ginger

had a birthday party for my son saturday and have some leftover chocolate cake. not to have to waste- is there anything i can do with the leftover, so that my son can take it to school this week. i was thinking of taking icing off and cutting it into squares and putting some kinda chocolate topping on it (somewhat like chocolate brownies) any ideas?

I have a question for people who have made a recipe and substituted apple sauce for butter, how did it come out? Oh and, is the ratio the same, one cup of butter is one cup of apple sauce? I bake a lot, so I'm thinking about trying this out on my friends to see if they notice a difference.
