had a birthday party for my son saturday and have some leftover chocolate cake. not to have to waste- is there anything i can do with the leftover, so that my son can take it to school this week. i was thinking of taking icing off and cutting it into squares and putting some kinda chocolate topping on it (somewhat like chocolate brownies) any ideas?

Yeah that's a good idea. You can do all sorts of things with left-over cake.....mix & match it with different things.

You could try chopping up the cake into squares and mixing it with diced fresh fruit and nuts.....drizzle some honey over it to sweeten it up.....its tasty, but more importantly nutritious too.

You could do a crumble.....use chunky bits of cake with crushed granola bars or cornflakes.

Balancing the cake with things like fruits, nuts & grain is healthier than just plain cake.

you can cut the cake into different sized squares/circles , stack them on top of each other (like mini wedding cakes), and decorate each one differently for his friends.

If you're going to take the icing off, grill it. Grilled cake is WONDERFUL stuff!
