I have a chocolate cake and fudge brownie mix in my pantry. I need to make something for my boyfriend to take to work for a Christmas Party. I don't want to do just a standard cake or brownie mix. Any ideas (with recipes) that I can do with either mix so they are not so basic. I love to bake, but I get bored with doing the basic mixes, especially basic cakes. Thanks in advance!

or what do I add to get the salty taste to subside? The other spices taste fine and I don't want to have one over power the other. It's just plain over salty.

Are you supposed to cover a roast with a lid or just leave it in the oven open? Do you baste it? Last, but not least, what meats require a lid & what one's don't? Thank you!

Many recipes that call for wine-Can you use Champagne red or white instead? No one ever says. Second does Champagne HAVE to be refrigerated after opening? Most alcohol (wine, liquor)does not ,but what about Champagne? Can you get food poisening from Champagne that has been left out several days when the weather is warm?

I heard someone say that it's because of Immigrants that these E.Coli breakouts are occuring, i.e. NAFTA(that nice little agreement between the U.S. and Mexico as well as Canada). there was talk about how since the food is being packaged by illegal immigrants who don't know about Hiegene, that's the reason there are E.Coli breakouts, I'll admit that before NAFTA or illegal immigrants, there weren't that many incidents of this bacteria, but then again, I hardly paid attention to the news before NAFTA, I was in High School deal with Cafeteria food(uuuugh) which was bad enough for me. so what's your take on this?

I have tried the one that uses just condensed milk and chocolate flavored chips, it flopped, it just wouldn't get hard. I have no ideal of what went wrong at all. Please help me out here if you would please. I am going to use the fudge as part of a Christmas gift. So I need a good and easy fudge recipe if you have one that you would like to share.

I made homemade baby food applesauce last night, left it out on the counter to cool and forgot about it until this morning (about 8 hours). I used apples, water and a dash of cinnamon. Is it still safe to feed to my baby?
