"Open House Punch" - 4 gallons

6 quarts water
10 cups brewed tea
5 cups sugar
4 (12 oz.) cans frozen orange juice concentrate; thawed
4 (12 oz.) cans frozen lemonade concentrate; thawed
1 (12 oz.) can frozen pineapple juice concentrate; thawed
4 liters ginger ale; chilled

In large container, combine first 6 ingredients; stir until sugar is dissolved. Cover and refrigerate until chilled. Just before serving, transfer to punch bowl; stir in ginger ale.

"Ice Ring Wreath"

4 cups cold distilled water; divided
3 large limes
1 (12 oz.) pkg. fresh cranberries

Pour 1 cup of the distilled water into a 4 1/2-cup ring mold lightly coated with nonstick cooking spray. Peel limes, keeping peel in large pieces. Using miniature tree cookie cutters, cut trees from the peel. Place shapes upside down in top of ring mold. Save lime pulp for another use. Place cranberries between tree shapes. Rearrange if necessary before freezing; freeze until solid.
Gently add remaining water; freeze. To use, wrap bottom of solidly frozen mold in a warm towel until loosened or dip mold in pan of warm water. Float ice ring, fruit side up, in cold punch.

Ice Ring For Punch Bowl

Cranberry Punch

1 quart cranberry juice
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup lime juice
sugar to taste
2 quart ginger ale

Combine all five juices in a punch bowl & sweeten to taste. Chill for at least one hour. Add ginger ale just before serving.

You can make extra of this and put it in ice cube trays and freeze, and then put them in the punch while it is being served to help it stay cool. Or you can put scoops of ice cream or sherbert in the punch to add a little "punch" or decoration to the punch.

You can pour some in a ring or in trays and freeze it so that you can put in the punch and it will not only stay cold but as it melts it will not "water" down the punch.

You have to use distilled water. It has been completely purified, and won't leave the white ring.

I make punch with a gallon of OJ, a big can of pineapple juice, and ginger ale. Super simple, but it is good. We usually float blobs of orange sherbet in it, but if you're doing the ice ring, you could skip that part.

For a clear ice mold, use bottled water. Not familiar with a punch using orange juice. Sangria minus the alcohol makes a festive beverage -- float sliced oranges and fruits of choice.

I never use water, I use soda or juice. when it is partially frozen add your fruit, leaves, roses, whole cranberries - whatever.
For a punch my mom always used rainbow sherbet and 1 2liter bottle ginger ale + 1 2 liter bottle 7up - looks odd but soo yummy!
