Wash a small to medium-sized potato really well....do not peel. Drop it into your spaghetti sauce and simmer until the potato is tender. Remove the potato and discard. This should absorb the excess salt.

Add a whole carrot to the sauce and cook on low heat for 30 min or just add sugar to taste.

Either add the peeled potato or add more tomato sauce but make a flour and water mixture to make sure it remains thick enough.

I have heard that if you drop in a raw potato, that will absorb the salt...although I have never tried it....
