I found a dress that I love and the color is diamond white, which looks amazing on my skin tone, but I saw a dress similar that only comes in ivory or white. What's the difference between diamond white and ivory?

We're getting hitched on December 6th. That's about a month from now. Lately, I've been thinking things like am I doing the right thing and is he really the one for me. It's kinda silly since I know he's the one for me and I can't think of anyone else I'd rather spend the rest of my life with. Lately, my insecurities have been popping up and I find myself eating more (my reaction to stress). I know I shouldn't be stressing since he's a wonderful person and I don't see anyone else I'd rather spend the rest of my life with. Sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy. I've been taking anti-anxiety medicine because I lie awake at night - Can't sleep thinking about the wedding! Part excited, part afraid. Is this normal? It's my first (hopefully my last) wedding.

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 4 years now. Last year I told him that I really want to get married since we don't have any real problem together. (At that time he was out of schoo and didn't have job so he was living with me till he found his current job in another city). He told me that he needed time to think about this. Everything was fine and I believe he wanted to purpose, untill his mum went to visit him this summer. She stayed for four months and was really nice with me but they were constatntly fighting. I wasn't also in my best shape since I was alone in this city and most of my friends had moved. So I was traveling to his house every weekend. I know it wasn't appropriate but I thought since I had helped him before he would understand my situation. But after his mum left, he told me he never wants to get married since he knows his mum will make his life like a hell. He also was annoyed by me traveling there every weekend. I really love this guy.

My fiance and I will be getting married in April 2009, and I was wondering what your inputs were for the perfect honeymoon destination. We'd really like to leave the country and we've gotten so many suggestions (various parts of Mexico, Europe, the Caribbean) its hard to narrow them. From experience, or word-of-mouth, what would you all say is a great destination for newlyweds? Some where warm, preferably wtih a coastline that's quiet for romantic evenings but yet has a great nightlife in case we want to go out and have fun. Can you please include why you recommend your destination? Thanks in advance!

I know people usually invite someone who is still single to be the matron of honor, is that OK if I invite someone who is divorced?

My fiance and my cousin started off on a rocky road between each other. My cousin started this beef between them and I have tried to end it but no matter what I do, things continue to get worse. It even got to the point where my cousin tried to fight my fiance, my girlfriend at the time. I stopped it from happening but that was the last straw, things haven't been the same between my cousin and I since it happened. My other cousins are following her lead and have treated my fiance like a pariah. She is definitely hurt and I understand why but I don't know what to do. We are getting married in June and she doesn't want them to come to the wedding. I have still tried to get them to warm up to her but, no go. I don't know what to do, I love my family but I realize they are jerks at times, but I also love my fiance and want to marry her and stay with her forever. How do I make things better for my fiance and not lose my family at the same time?

Do people really enjoy cookie cutter weddings? Why is it so bad if someone wants to make their wedding stand out amongst the rest.

I am all for doing your own thing but I don't get so many of the replies here that say "that is so tacky! etc" when someone wants to do something personal or unique like wear a colored dress instead of white, as just one example of many. If it's not hurting anyone and not jeopardizing .your guests' comfort, what is the problem and why do some people have to be so snarky and mean about it? They're choosing their thing for their event, you get to choose your thing when it's your turn. Seriously, what is wrong with being different?

I am looking for a reception facility in Houston that will allow us to use our own people to facilitate everything from food down to flowers. We already know who we will use for these things, so we don't want an all inclusive type place. We would prefer somewhere that we can handle it ourselves and just rent the facility. Any Ideas?

Also if it is out doors or with a view of water that is a major plus.

Will the wedding dress I'm in love with now still be around? If so, when do you recommend I buy it?
It's a Maggie Sottero...

Thanks!

I'm just curious to see what people do to pick a date. My bf's sister picked 8-8-08, cuz it's cute. My parents did March 23, cuz 23 is my mom's favorite number.

I've heard of people using their birthdays to make a date - how is that done? I'm guessing it depends on when your birthdays are as to how you can combine them.

What else do people do, though?

Ok, so this is kind of involved but i will try to give the best nutshell version possible. So when my fiance and i got engaged my parents gave a 5,000.00 budget on our wedding...Thats awesome so we made everything work with the 5g and it would have been simple but nice. We showed my mom and dad what we had come up with and it wasnt good enough for them so, they gave us some ideas on different place and what not...we didnt like any of them but we went with a country club that they liked and now...all of our ideas are not being heard....they want it there way, which yes i understand...it's their money but at the same time they should listen to us being it is our wedding. Now they are saying (because of they way that they want it) we are over budget and we have to start paying for what we want because everything that they wanted pushed us over budget (again, everything that they wanted we hate) what the hell shoud we do to make our wedding the we want it...cuz as of now..i resent it?

plan my wedding; I know I want white calla lillies as the main flower, but I don't know what the a good second flower would be, or maybe just something as a filler.
My colors are wine and silver, the only ideas I've come up with are small wine colored roses or tulips.
Any good ideas? Thanks!! :)

I know a Matron of Honor is married. A Maid of Honor is not. The person that I always thought would be my Maid of Honor is married now, so she will obviously be my Matron of Honor. None of the other girls are in my bridal party are married. So, do I also choose a Maid of Honor as well or does the Matron of Honor take the Maid of Honor's place? 'Cause I've been thinking about having a Matron of Honor AND a Maid of Honor. I guess it's my wedding and I get to do whatever I want, but I just want to know what's common and what you think about it? Thanks! :)

My fiance and I are planning to get secretly married before our wedding. We want to do a civil service ceremony with the justice of the peace. I can't find any information online. I don't know who to call. I went on the city's website and couldn't find it. We just want to go to the court and do it there. We live in Pensacola. Help please.

Hi, I am not sure how to list my parents on our wedding program. My parents are divorced, my mom has remarried, and my dad has been dating someone for several years, though they are not married or engaged.

Re: my dad, normally I would write their names as John X and Jane Y. But here's the issue: my dad's girlfriend will also be the bride's personal attendant. It seems silly to list her twice, but it also seems silly to not list her name next to my dad's, because everyone will be wondering who he is sitting with. What do you think?

Ok ladies, we all spend a good chunk of our time on here giving each other advice LOL.

So, what I want to know is:

1) Where are you from?
2) What do you do?
3) What's your favorite color?

I'm Kiki, I'm from California and currently a student. I absolutely adore the color purple :P
