Our officiant for my wedding this Saturday is a good friend of me and my fiance. He asked us to write 5 words that mean love, the reasons to be geing married, ect....I'm not that analytical, so I thought I'd give him an excerpt from my journal that I wrote about my fiance when I first met him. Please feel free to be as brutally honest as you want, as I don't want to embarrass myself if this sucks....here it is:
"The look feels so right, the touch even more so. I feel as if I belong to this soul and body- as if I've been here before, and I have returned after a long search that unknowingly lead me directly home. The instant I saw, was the instant I knew~ fate questioned me, and now all solutions point me in the direction I'm heading."

Not sure about that last sentence....please help!

An odd question, but not a joke question.

I am an ordained Minister through the Universal Life Church in California. I currently reside in Kentucky. I got my ordination and have done nothing with it in the 7 years since i got it. I was wondering if anyone knew if i could sign/officiate my own marriage? Such as, my fiancee and I are planning a large wedding of our dreams for a few years down the road, but we do not want to wait to get married. Basically we are going to the courthouse and eloping, and then when we have the money, we are going to have a wedding/vow renewal. So yeah, just wondering if i can do that or if i have to get another priest to do so.

I have heard it is bad ettiquet to put it on the invitations, so how will they know? I don't expect gifts but if people want to give them we should be registered, right?

I personally HATE here comes the bride. I thinks its tacky and annoying. There is another song ppl often walk down the isle to and it has lots of strings instruments.

My husaband lost his wedding ring today (it was in his pocket) because he was working at a factory working on a line. he is a mechanical engineer and is usually behind a desk....Is this true that workers can not wear a wedding ring if they work in a factory??

Our latest disagreement, after the members of the bridal party and the location of the ceremony, is the wording on the invitations.
I never realised how much conflict this thing would cause - my poor btb is freaking out trying to keep the peace and also have at least a little bit of what she wants...

Is calling off a wedding because the excitement of the wedding is no longer there a valid reason?

I'm getting married in Dec. and just last week my hotel reception venue pulled out on me, stating they had construction planned. Wouldn't they have known this months ago? Now, I have 3 options:

1. Get my money back. Great. Then, where do I have my wedding reception? It's less than 2 mths away and I have no venue!
2. Go with their 1st option: a huge, empty convention center where they hold college graduations. My reception will be 100 people max and I do not have the budget to properly decorate a convention center!
3. Go with their 2nd option: a beautiful EXPENSIVE hotel terrace in downtown with all the bells and whistles. They are transferring my deposit and my blocked rooms, but that's it! The menu is $12 more per person, parking is NOT free, and the DJ equipment is not included. Thus, I end up paying a minimum of $1,500 more than I budgeted!

Not to mention the invitations have already gone out w/the original hotel info! They have yet to talk compesation for that! I am so mad!

I got married in september. My maid of honour was less than helpful during the planning but we had fun anyway. She never showed up as promised to my gift opening thus never gave me a present. Not even a card. I have seen her twice since my honeymoon but she has made no mention of a gift - but she has talked about how much she indulged in the open bar etc... I do not know how to mention that I feel a little sad that she has not even given us a card.
One more thing that I am upset about is that she had previously alluded to a breadmaker. Our Emcee had purchased one for us long before the big day but returned it when he saw that it had been duplicated on the registry. He spent the day before our wedding searching for another gift - we really love to make bread and he is a pretty thoughtful guy. We have not received a breadmaker and wonder why my MOH is doing this?
what should I do?

My fiance and I are trying to plan a destination (Caribbean) wedding for November of 2008 without having to take his kids (from his first marriage) out of school for the entire week to make the trip. A lot of people have suggested the week of Thanksgiving. Do you think it is acceptable to have it in a holiday week? Do you think it increases or decreases the chances that people will attend? We would be able to give people nearly a year's notice if we decide to do it. Thoughts?

I don't usally like up do's , but this one looks unique. I would subistute the flowers for roses in pink or white. My dress is a white strapless with a light pink sash, and the reception is at a hll in the country.

Do you think that if you were dating someone 5 years and you broke up with them and you claimed that you really loved the person you were with very much.....do you think that it's really truly possible to;

Meet someone on a cell phone through the internet on a text messaging service....text them for two month.....meet them only 3 weeks ago from today in person and say that you have moved on, over it, and happy with this new girl. Plus say that you love them already and are going to marry her soon and move her in with you? This meaning that you could get over your ex you supposedly loved even though you say you don't now in just knowing someone personally for 3 weeks????
