One of my bridesmaids has been very difficult the entire engagement period. She has not once expressed her happiness towards the fact that one of her best friends (myself) is getting married. It is VERY apparent that she is jealous that she is not yet engaged and her jealousy is coming across as extremely demeaning towards me. She has belittled every aspect of our wedding. Every time I get excited about the cake, limo, DJ, etc. she let's me know that her taste is completely different and that what I'm doing is totally not suitable for her wedding. I don't mind opinions but she is telling me that everything I'm doing wouldn't be good enough for her. Also, she talks about her wedding (which is non-existent right now because she is not engaged) more than I do! She has no interest in talking about mine, it's all about her her her. Call me selfish but I mean c'mon, can't we worry about the close approaching wedding first? What do I do?!?!?

I would like to plan a destination wedding in Greece, but I am not sure where to start. I have found a lot of companies that have packages on the internet, but I am not sure how to find out if these companies are reputable (especially if they are outside of the US). Has anyone had any experience planning a destination wedding and if so, do you have any advice for things to do or not do and how go about planning a destination wedding? Has anyone used a specific company that did a good job? Do you know of a source where I could find out which companies that do destination weddings in Greece are reputable? Thanks!

I originally planned to elope- now it's become a tiny bit more elaborate- but still less than 50 people.... and family only- no friends. I wanted to have a couple of my nieces be flower girls- and my son, and soon to be stepson to be ringbearers..... does this seem odd not to have a real bridal party? I almost feel like we'll look like we don't have any friends- or didn't have anyone to ask.......

I would like to ask my girlfriend's father for his blessing (which she already knows about). I already have something in mind that I plan on saying but I'm not sure if it's good enough. So I was hoping on getting some suggestions on what to say/ask him.

For a while now I've wanted to be legally Ordained as a minister so I may legally marry people in the future ( a personal goal that I have set for myself). I've also wished to be Ordained not only as a Christian Minister, but as a Pagan. This site allows one to be ordained under any religion.

However I must question the legal validity of it? Does anybody have experience with this ? Does anybody know whether it is legally valid or how to determine whether it is or not?

Does the Catholic church allow you to get married in church to make it offical with the them after if have already had a court house wedding? My Fiance' is in the army, we are going to get married soon, we don't have time to plan a church wedding b/c we don't know where he is going to be in 6 months a year from now. so we are going to get married at the court house soon, so am i allowed to still have a catholic cermony later, or what is the procedure?

I am 15,pregnat and will be keeping the baby. The baby's birthfather left me, so I was going to be raising it alone. BUT then this guy that has always been a good friend has asked me to marry him. He is 18, but is willing to make the comitment. I want to mary him. He was going to be my baby's GodFather but if he could be a Daddy to my baby, I'd like. So, can I get married now in the state of Massachusetts or do I have to wait?

We want to do them ourselves and so I was wondering:
What you would suggest using to hold the place card.

1. Our Color is Blue Velvet and we are accenting it with pink flowers. We are thinking a white card with Blue lettering.

2. The item has to be cheap due to budget constraints.

Thank you for your help!

about this mother of the bride dress?
http://www.lew-magram.com/pagebuilder/Item?item=L1270&CATEGORY=PANTSUIT

mom ordered this dress and it looks great (she's a business woman)...

What should my future mother in law wear? I don't think she really wants to wear black. Do they really have to coordinate?
Personally I don't care...but I don't have any ideas for her either.

Im not worried about black though as my girls bridesmaids dresses are black.

My fiancee who I have dated for 6 months .. I know.. Claims that I surround myself with people who think too highly of me thus giving me an inflated self image.. He claims that he is sick of hearing how great I am from my friends and family.. I have no idea what to say to such hateful hurtful comments.

I have ordered printed wedding invitations for the day reception but have decided to invite a few collegues to just the evening reception. Do you think it is ok to send out shop brought evening invitations of should I order evening invitations to match the day time ones? I want people to feel their invite is special but budget is an issue.

We are getting married at our local renaissance festival. We each choose our own character according to our interests. I chose princess, he chose pirate. (opposites DO attract) We both have our clothes and names, etc... But there is one problem.

Many renaissance buffs have mentioned that although there were both pirates and princesses during the ren period, chances of the two actually marrying were HIGHLY unlikely. I do understand this, but really don't care.

I do have an idea, I thought about writing a short story, which would begin kinda like a fairy tale. The story would explain, quite briefly how the pirate & princess met and what circumstances there would be for a King to actually allow such a wedding to take place with his blessing. I want to have several story cards printed and placed on the seating benches.

*Both our parents are divorced
* Groom is Captain James, the Sleeveless Terror of the High Seas
* I am Lady Ashley 3rd daughter to Kind David (1 of 6 daughters)

When is the minimum/maximum amount of time to send out save-the-dates for a wedding?

2007-11-09 04:45:56 · 13 answers · asked by Anonymous

when i look at other peoples wedding photos years afterwards they all look so dated. since they went with the current fades and styles.

I always thought Grace Kelly seemed to have classic taste , not only for her wedding .....but in other attire she wore and that was 50 years ago.

I really don't want to look back 30 years from now and say what was i thinking . or worse have someone else say it.

I am not worried about it years from now and I will enjoy my wedding .... but I would like to avoid it as much as possiable. And yes it is inevitable it will happen .. but I would like to lessen the dated factor.

what do you belive are classics wedding things/dresses & hair styles .that never go out of style?

and if you have a what was a thinking story i would love to hear it.

I asked 3 friends to be my bridesmaids. I figured instead of making my bridesmaids and maid of honor wear a dress they didn't like I chose the color and told them to find a dress. My maid of honor didn't even bother looking. About 2 weeks ago my mom and bridesmaids all went out and picked out a dress. My maid of honor made a stink about because she didn't like the dress. We went to 6 different places and found her a dress that was a different style but the same color as the bridesmaids dresses. She told me she loved the second dress and she was ok with that... then proceeded to tell me she needs the receipt so that she can buy another dress and return this one. We are 3 weeks away from my wedding. I talk to my mom and we decided to take her out of the wedding. This morning I got a call from her mother asking me to reconsider because she is very "fragile" at the moment and she could have a "breakdown" and end up in the hospital if she isnt in the wedding. Am I being selfish or unfair???

I live in the Metro-Detroit area and have a wedding dress I wore 2 years ago that I would like to find a home for. It was worn, but is in great shape. Strapless, white, silk-satin material with a beaded bodice and trumpet style skirt with detachable train. Size 4. I would practically give it away if I knew of someone who had a use for it.

Any suggestions for a place to donate or sell such an item?
Thanks.

So I asked all my girls to be in the wedding and they all said yes. They have all been supportive and helpful, but I have one that has disagreed with everything. I have been very upset all month arguing and saying sorry to the others girls for her behavior.
First straw she would not let my have the shower where my mom wanted because she was going to have her wedding reception there(it got called off). That hurt, all the other girls loved it. In my town there is only like 5 places. Ok we will get through this.
Second straw. She sent out nasty e-mails saying this is the final decision. Not one girl was informed about it these plans. Then all the girls were planning the bacherlotte. They decided on something. She wanted a limo that was really expensive when we could do the bacherlotte for cheaper. We decided we wanted to go the winieries but she said I don't like wine I don't wanna go. She has been making everyone in the wedding party really upset.

There is more

I'm planning my wedding invitations. My finace brought up an interesting question, and I don't know the answer: If people don't RSVP within the time stated on the invite, do we call them and check on the situation, or do we just assume they are not comming?

I don't want to ruffle any feathers, but I don't want people to feel harrassed into showing up.

Thanks!

Is it a good idea to send thank you cards to people that just mailed a card to you for your wedding, with no gift included? A friend of my mom's who lives out of state and who I am pretty sure I have never met, sent me a card for my wedding. Should I send her a thank you?

We're getting married next week and we've put cheap disposable cameras into the childrens activity packs with a list of photos to get.

So far we've got; a picture of the best dancer, the biggest hat, parents dancing, the highest heels, groom without a drink, bride dancing, bride/groom eating wedding cake etc.

Anyone have any other suggestions for photos a child could take?

Ive known this girl for 10 years or more and we got along really well before. After high school we drifted apart and dont see each other much but i thought it would still be polite to invite her to my wedding afterall you only get married once a lifetime. When i called her and told her im getting married and i wanted to come over and invite her she didnt really seem to care and made out that she was going to be busy tonight so told me not to worry and just to post it out. I was a bit upset about it considering i had made the effort to give her a call. we havent had a fight or argument EVER and now this? i dont get it. It was the same situation with her cousin and when i spoke to her she was ecstatic to hear from me and couldnt wait to see me (and we spoke for hours). why the cold shoulder with this one? should i bother sending out the invite?
