Me and my fiancee will celebrate our first engagement anniversary on Feb 14th and still we haven't set any day for the wedding. why? we decided to take things slower bc we are both working to pay off for the wedding ( my parents cannot help that much) and i have still to move to the US which is not easy to do (getting the fiance visa) and plus the fact of moving to another country it requires for me to take some money with me. also my fiance wants a big wedding celebration (i want that too) hes family is HUGE and so is mine (even is not all of my family will be attending) and also the fact of living in a new house, it requires responsibility of payments and all that.

so what do you recommend me?

As a guest, do you like to watch the couple open gifts? Or is it a big yawn?

My husband and I got married just last June at his parent's house. Just before the rehearsal, she and I got into an arguement (long story, neither her nor I are innocent I must sheepishly admit). Our out of town family was coming to dinner after the rehearsal, and when my family got there, I acted as if everything was all right and there was no fight. She, however, pouted inside and cried to her family about how horrible I treated her, and refused to come outside where the dinner was. None of her relatives introduced themselves to me. The next day, at the wedding, she talked crap about me to everyone she came across. She frowned in all our pictures, and then, when my brother gave a touching speech that caused him to cry, she said "oh just get over it." Her biting remarks and inability to let the previous night's occurance go led to a horrible wedding. She was completely rude to all my family. I haven't spoken to her since. She won't apologize because she thinks she didn't do anything.

I just found out last night that my BF's son is getting married next weekend. Real spur of the moment thing - about 10 days notice - she's pregnant & it's at the courthouse. I have a big business & family trip planned & I bought the tickets 6 weeks ago & it will cost me big $$$ to change my plans. My BF says not to worry about it, as the whole thing will take 15 minutes & is no big deal, but I still feel bad about it, especially as I may be his son's step-mother someday. Should I take them out to lunch or do something before or after the "wedding" or do something else for them? They haven't registered for anything, really have no plans, it's just a quickie wedding.

He proposed to me 2 nights ago.It was so romantic the way he did it!!He knows my favorite color is red so he bought me this beautiful red silk dress with rhinestones flowing all the way down to the floor. Also,he bought me these sexy black pumps to go with it.On that day he treated me to the spa(to get massages and to get my nails and hair done). We met in the limo and drove to the airport where we got into his dad private jet.We flew to new york to the empire state building. When we got to the top there was a red carpet that lead to a candle light dinner table. There was a guy who played the violin,we got up and dance and johnny is not a good slow dancer but he impressed me very well that night. After we ate dinner we had dessert. Then he told me he had a gift for me.And i thought it was just a nice bracelet.NO NO No it was a 21 karrot ring with the biggest diamond ever!! I was so shocked i didn't think i just said yes! we been together for 3 years.having cold feet cuz im 20 n in college!

I haven't looked into the cost yet, so if anyone is willing to share what they spent, I'd appreciate knowing.
That being said, I was just wondering if anyone is considering learning to do calligraphy themselves (or maybe has already learned) so they could do their invitations themselves.
I did a quick online search and there are a number of sites that show you how (for free!) it seems like if I got a light box that I could really do a great job by "copying" from the letter templates.

A friend married 2 weeks ago, & she is still complaining about the girl who "ruined" her special day. One of her guests, was pregnant & went into labor during the ceremony.(her hubby was a groomsmen & she wasn't due for a couple weeks)..Well, I was seated near her and I quietly helped her into the hall. She said that she was definatly in Labor, so I drove her to the hospital...I assured her that I would go back to the church & tell her hubby..Well when I arrived back the ceremony was just ending..taking pics & whatnot..Well I told my friends hubby that she was at the hospital & that she was having the baby...My friend (the bride) was mad because I didn't stay for the wedding...I thought it better for me to leave than a groomsman...and our other friend didn't want to interupt the ceremony more than she already had. Well now we are having a belated baby shower...and the bride is refusing to go..& telling everyone this girl ruined her day, so she is now going to ruin hers.

Ok... I'm looking for some serious advise..Please.
For the last couple months (6) I started working out and eating very well, and I lost 15lbs and toned my mid section somewhat. I even bought smaller Jeans, size six, I was an eight before. This week it feels I have gained so much weight and my thighs and stomach feel heavy. I went to put on my six jeans and couldn't!. I am wearing my eight jeans and they are very snug (tight)...What happened????? My dress is tight...I can't take much out of it...I hardly ate anything yesterday...just trying to see if something would change...
Ahhh..I am so upset...I have been crying almost all morning...What can I do.....fast one week toning, body wraps...cleanse...anything...Please...Please...

Okay, I live in a very, very small town and there is only one place that i can have my reception. It is very nice with a dance floor and many tables that include table cloths, silverware, etc.
We have already gone and looked at the site and decided how we will decorate it. It's the perfect place for a reception, the only problem is.....

They only book events 30 days in advance!!!!!!!

What should i do?? I don't want to put this place on my invitations, then figure out its already booked!!! I'm so stressed about the situation, any advice!?!?!

I am marrying in April 08 and purchased my wedding dress earlier this year. Looking at things now I am having second thoughts about my dress and think that maybe it's too plain and not what I really want?

Do all brides do this when they've supposedly found THE DRESS? should I maybe think about changing it now whille I still have time? or do you think that your first choice is always the best?

Hey guys ok first off thanks to everyone who answered my other questions I wish I could pick everyone ask best answer! But heres another one! For my six brides maids I am having jade color dresses 3 in each one of the syles in the links below. If you go to the links on the side you can select the colors from tabs on the side of the dress to see the Jade color. The other color for the ribbons on each dress will be a pink. However I can not pick which of their pinks look best with the jade! The maid of honor will be wearing the opposite with a pink dress and jade bow. How do you think that will look and which color of pink do you think will look best with jade? Thanks in advance!

Oh ps... By fiancee is in the army and wants to wear his dress blues uniform. Do you think that will look ok with the Jade and pink color scheme?

Links will be edited in in about a minute. Not enough space. THanks!

I was planning on having an adult only reception (of course though allowing the three family members that are IN the bridal party). I asked one of my bridesmaids for her address so I could put it correctly into my database...When she gave it to me she gave me her name, her hubby's name and her new daughters name.

I asked her if she was going to bring the baby and she said "Yeah why do you have a problem with that?"

I was kind of put off by that, i mean, yeah i wanted an adults only reception (mostly because my dads paying for food and it's 8.95 per plate for kids).. she said she would bring jar food for the baby...

Did any of you find it rude for her to respond to me like that?
