My fiance' and I are both Catholic. I became Catholic last Easter and began working on an annulment as soon as I was confirmed. I had a very awful marriage when I was 19 to an athiest and have been divorced for 10 years. We both wanted very much to be married in the church, but because my ex has gotten to the venue changed to a diocees that is understaffed we have decided (with the input of our priest) that we are going to go ahead and have a civil ceremony. We have also decided because of our ages, 33 and 36 that we want to begin our family right away. The trouble is I want to have a wedding and once the annulment comes through I want to have a small Catholic Mass, he on the other hand wants the oposite a small civil ceremony and a large Catholic Mass after the annulment. I didn't have a wedding when I was younger and I want to have a celebration of our love that everyone can attend, all of our family and friends, nothing over the top but a wedding none the less.

L.O.V.E. by Nat King Cole?

I know you usually use a more upbeat, popular, or funny song, but we just can't think of anything along those lines that really fits us, even though we are a young couple we dont really listen to pop music, only alternative, rock, and county, and many of our wedding songs are country already, and I really want it to be upbeat and happy, and rock jsut doesnt seem to fit in that catagory for me...

I thought this is classic and sweet and maybe an option? Any and all opinions are welcome! Honesty please! Thanks!

I know that most people do it right after dinner--HOWEVER--I find that many people leave (elderly) or completely miss the photo op since they're socializing. My Photographer suggested to do it pretty much right when we arrive at the reception so that it will be done (and you can relax & socialize after the bouquet/grater toss and no longer be pulled from your festivities) and the hall can work on cutting & plating it for right after dinner. Opinions??

Who buys the bridesmaid dresses?

Flower girl dress?

Groomsmen attire?

Mothers attire?

Fathers attire?

Is a rehearsal dinner expected? How does that work? After the rehearsal everyone goes out to dinner? Who should be invited? Who pays?

Parents of bride are poor losers. Parents of groom are well off and offer to pay for wedding. Should I let them? If they pay, then should the invitation be reversed (i.e. says they request the attendance...)?

Any other advice?

We thought we'd attend church and go out to dinner. But outside of that we don't know what we want to do. On the 4th we were going to have a BBQ rehearsal dinner. Then saturday the is the wedding. Any ideas? Oh and does anybody have any ideas for a Tinkerbell wedding shower?

Please pray for Bob,

> Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary.
> His wife was really angry
> She told him > "> Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the
driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in less than 6 seconds.
> AND IT BETTER BE THERE> "> The next morning Bob got up early and left
for work.

> When his wife woke up she looked out the window and sure enough there was
a gift-wrapped box in the middle of the driveway. Confuse, the wife put on
her robe and ran out to the driveway and brought the box back in the house.
She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

I'm my cousin's bridesmaid and I've been having to help her fend off the invited guests about why their children aren't allowed/invited to the wedding. My cousin is rather disappointed about the lack of guests that will be able to come (the wedding is in 3 months) but out of our 8 aunts and uncles in the family, every one of them has a kid under 12, and 6 of them live 1,000 miles away at least. A lot of our aunts and uncles have been calling to complain that she's being unreasonable and disrespectful to our family by not allowing children. For her dad's side, she has the same rules (I'm from her mom's). A lot of her friends also have children. It seems that everyone is really unhappy with her, and I'm often pulled into the argument of one side versus another. I just want to help her be happy and be a good bridesmaid, yet I can't help but see both sides of the story. Almost everyone is telling her if she doesn't allow children, they won't be able to attend. Are they being fair? is she?

Okay so my friend Katrina is getting married. I call her my little sister and we have known eachother for a long time. She has a son that is 11 days younger than my son. Katrina is 20 and her fiancee is 19. They are living with his parents. I wasn't invited to be in the wedding, and got a verbal invitation since she says she had limited money to spend. I don't think she has a wedding registry anywhere and I have no clue what to get her for her wedding. Does anyone have any ideas??

Just wondering people seem to make such a big deal out of it.
you do not see her feet until the garder toss.

I can understand when certain wedding dresses that show the toe of the shoe

for the most part she is wearing petti coats a heavy dress shouldn't her feet be comfy ?

I'm very upset by stories I've heard of people bringing uninvited friends, dates, etc to a wedding. Sometimes I wonder whether they just don't understand how RSVPs work and what's appropriate for a wedding (which is a personal event to be shared only with loved ones) versus a backyard BBQ. Even very reasonable people have been known to bring unexpected and uninvited guests.

In any case, I have been toying with the idea of making my own invites and I was thinking about personalizing the RSVP cards. Essentially, I would write in the names of the invitees and just ask them to check "Attending" or "Regrets" so that there is no possibility of them being confused about the "# of Guests" line or thinking they can add more names in.

Would that come off as snooty or patronizing? Or would people just like the fact that I've simplified the process for them and not notice that it sent the subtle message that strangers were not welcome?

I got married a little over a year ago. I invited a good friend of mine from high school to the wedding, We were good friends in hs but we didn't really see each other once we went off to college (only 1 or 2 tms in 4 yrs) however, remained in contact online here and there. I had told to her about the wedding before we even had an exact date..told her it would be in October sometime. I also sent out save the date cards.
Once invitations came out she replied with a yes for her and a date. Well, less than a week b4 the wedding she called me and told me that she was unable to come to the wedding due to work. (I still had to pay for her and her dates meal) I am was and still am very hurt by the situation. I sure as hell know that if she had gotten married I would have asked for that date off in advance. She was given months to take the day off.
She sent my hubby and I a wedding gift and I wrote her a thank you but she has not made any chance to contact me since then. What do you think?

My fiance and I met on July 4th. Since we met i planned on getting married to him on the same day. Now that I am looking up information about weddings everything seems to think that the "theme" of the wedding needs to be patriotic. I don't want this theme or colors, do you think I can do what I want for the color scheme?
