Why not it is your day and who cares what others think if that is what you have hoped for go for it. I do think it would be beautiful.

Hi and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
I am not really a fan of "themes", and to be honest, I don't think yours will work. It's kind of odd. I DO understand a beach theme, if, in fact, you are to be married ON the beach! But why have a beach theme if you live in the mountains and are no where near a beach, nor will your wedding or reception be held on the beach?
Why don't you just pick "colors" and go with those. You can incorporate invitations, linens, centerpieces, favors, etc. all with "colors" just the same as you can with a "theme."
Good luck!

As long as it's not too cold. Nothing would be worse than looking back on your wedding and only remembering how cold you were (if you actually plan on holding your wedding AT the beach). Other than that, a beach wedding is not only a cheaper way to go (no real decor needed, no renting the hall/church, you don't really need much in the way of music (maybe just a quartet) because you want to hear the sound of the waves crashing), but it's also the most beautiful setting on Earth.
Congrats.

I live in sunny Florida a mile away from the sugar white sands, and emerald green Gulf of Mexico. Here are some negatives:
Sand fleas
Guest walking in high heel shoes on sand, not fun
Heat, allot of older people cannot handle a long time in the sun.
Having the sun in your eyes, squinting while the photographer is taking pictures; makes you look angry.
Restrooms nearby?
Weather, yup, what if it rains on the day?
My daughter wanted a wedding on the beach, but she got married in a church, and the wedding photos afterwards were shot at the beach. She rented a reception hall on the beach by the way. So you can have the best of both worlds.
Congratulations by the way.

I think it is a great idea. You could go to a craft store and buy a wooden treasure chest. Cover it with shells instead of the pillow for the rings. You could put shells on the tables and maybe even get some small rose bowls and have a colorful fish swimming for centerpieces. What a way to bring the beach to still cold and sometimes rainy weather.

I am getting married this coming April and I am doing a beach theme for our wedding. I live in PA so there's no beach near me either. I am using the theme for my centerpieces, colors, favors, etc I think you should be fine with it. Let me know if you want to swap any ideas. Congrats and good luck.

You can make any theme work that you really love. However, I will say that in spring, the beach is rather cold. You and your guests might be very uncomfortable. If you can find a place with large windows that look out on the water, your event could be indoors, with the views in the distance. Have a great wedding.

I dont get why a beach theme if its in the mountains. I think it would look much better to fit your theme to the surroundings.
