Hi my fiance' and I finally set a date-July 5, 2008. We know both our families will be in town for the 4th so we decided to host them the whole week starting sunday. We thought we'd attend church and go out to dinner. But outside of that we don't know what we want to do. On the 4th we were going to have a BBQ rehearsal dinner. Then saturday the is the wedding. Any ideas? Oh and does anybody have any ideas for a Tinkerbell wedding shower?

No I'm not throwing my own shower. My sisters are throwing it in honor of my daughter they're 2 & 7 months. They're dad's sister in law is helping too. It's going to be children around too so that's why I was asking for ideas.
And I don't want to organize they're trip, I want to make sure that they have activites to do with everybody so we all get to meet each other and spend time together.

You will be busy setting up for this and really you don't have to entertain your guests the whole time. I'd find out some local activities. Where the local golf course is? Print out directions to it. Directions to the mall (especially if it's near where you registered--without being blunt about it--b/c i'm sure some people will be looking for a wedding gift that they didn't get around to buying). Get brochures and things from any local points of interest. A nearby lake that rents kayaks. Get them a brochure so they can rent a paddleboat or a kayak for the day. The art museum or zoo is nearby. Pick up a brochure and list the hours.
I'd make one big sheet that had
Art Museum 9 am- 5 pm $12 admission, $6 children
Zoo 8 am-6 pm $28 admission, $12 children
perhaps a phone number and address for each event.
B/c not all your guests are going to want to do the same thing.
I think having it over the holiday like that is a great idea! But do realize that you and your mother are going to be super busy. Don't plan for your guests or organize their vacation for them. Provide them options of course but you are going to be too busy to shuttle them around.

It all sounds really fun, but hosting them the entire week might be a strain on you. Remember, you want to be at your best on the wedding day...
Tinkerbell wedding shower, sounds fun. Wands of course, maybe a pass around wand where the person holding it has an obligation...get the bride a drink, tell a story, wear a silly hat. Pixie dust, maybe use really fine glitter for something. Think wonderful thoughts, a pretty box where friends and family write down their most wonderful thoughts about marriage.

awesome date! I suggest an outside garden style wedding in the late afternoon, say 6pm. After you kiss and start walking back down the aisle have someone blow off just a few fireworks (instead of throwing rice). It may not be completely dark but it works with the whole 4th of July thing too. Then have a beautiful reception in a banquet hall at a golf course.

my only suggestion would be to give them some time off! An entire week is a long time to have scheduled activities and themed events. Plan at least 3-4 days where they can just visit and do their own thing.

i imagine for a catholic ceremony as long as you've some thing over your shoulders for the provider the robe might want to be positive. Then once you get to the reception and also you would possibly want to take the wrap off and glam up slightly. I see no reason to regulate outfits between. in the adventure that they haven't any more some thing on their invitation then it isn't large formal and this gown will be suitable for the celebration.

Where do you live? Is there attractions in your area that is only special to your area. For instinces if you live in nyc, go see the statue of liberty. Take the women to the spa and men golfing. A baseball game maybe, even if you don't like baseball it is always fun to go and enjoy being in the statium together. Maybe a play in your area.

awww.. a tinkerbell shower.. thats such a cute idea! you definitely need to have fairy dust all over the tables, centerpieces, on the walkway entrance outside, everywhere! and edible fairy dust on the entire cake.. but just one question.. youre not throwing your own shower right?

You could have a game night. Then anyone that wants to play could and those that don't wouldn't have to.
