Okay so my friend Katrina is getting married. I call her my little sister and we have known eachother for a long time. She has a son that is 11 days younger than my son. Katrina is 20 and her fiancee is 19. They are living with his parents. I wasn't invited to be in the wedding, and got a verbal invitation since she says she had limited money to spend. I don't think she has a wedding registry anywhere and I have no clue what to get her for her wedding. Does anyone have any ideas??

Photo frames and vases are things you can get that look nice for not much money from anywhere and are something you cant have too many of! You could get a nice one $30 and under with gift cards I put more money on them then $30!

A wedding album so she can put the pictures in it. Also, you could take digital pictures of the wedding and have them developed for her... as part of your gift. Be sure to get them put on a CD Rom... ( I dont think that charge much extra to do this) ...
These will be memories that she will treasure forever. I really cannot think of a better gift.
Chances are ... she will not be able to afford a good photographer... this may be just the thing to help her remember her special day.

Another idea... is to purchase them a night at a very nice hotel. Usually that can be purchased for less than a $100. If they cannot afford a 'Honeymoon'... this would be a nice gift.

Mr. Coffee espresso maker for $28 at Wal-Mart.

EDIT: A gift card is a bad idea here - if you can only spend $30 then it looks like a cheap gift card, whereas a nice small appliance will look like you spent a lot more. You can also get a really cool quesadilla maker at Target for under $20.

Photo frames are always great gifts, especially for a wedding. With them living with his parents, you don't want to overwhelm them with gifts for the home since more than likely they have access to all those items. Plus, storage space may be an issue.

A gift card is always great. You could also include a note for several evenings of babysitting so they can go out on occasion. If you have other skills she appreciates, you could put a note in for those, instead. Friendship is the best gift.

How about a nice dinner certificate for a restaurant they like? And some cash thrown in to pay for a babysitter (add a note to explain why cash enclosed)?

Gift card is good if you know what they like--Linen N Things to decorate an apartment or house, etc. Home Depot for fix up materials or plants. Michaels, if she does her own things craft-wise for the house.

His and hers something or other--you know her better than I do.

Gift card always work! That way they can get what they where hoping for and you don't have to take a lot of time picking something out that they may not like at all!

I have to go with everyone else on this one! A giftcard! Get it from a great place that every starting out couple needs things from like target, or bed bath and beyond! They will pick out what they need and its perfect since they dont have a lot of money! Good luck!
