it doesn't matter what the bride wears, hell im wearing ruby red sequined slippers and your right, no one will see them until the garter toss, but both families know that im a BIG FAN of the wizard of oz, so they'll all understand.

Some people are just superficial. I agree that unless you're having a garter toss, no one will see the shoes. I couldn't tell you what kind of shoes any past brides have worn at the weddings that I have been to, even when they did do the garter toss. Obviously shows how non-important the color or style is. The only person who it should matter to is the bride since she is wearing them for hours on end.

My girlfriend also wore flip flops I wore low heels it is your day you should be comfortable I don't think it matters what shoes you wear. I also know a bride who was barefoot during her ceremony and the wedding was beautiful:) I also know of a bride who wore 10 dollar shoes from pay less that were white and had straps yes your feet should be comfortable.

I think it goes along with the "this is your special day, look your best" school of thought.. plus people spent so long looking for the right dress, you want the right shoes too.. I plan to be barefoot for my ceremony and will probably pick up some silver or gold slip flops to wear later to dinner

with all of the planning and all, i realized about 10 min. before i walked down the aisle that i had forgotten to buy shoes! I walked down the aisle in my stockings. NO ONE even noticed! I was so very worried that someone would say something or snicker behind my back or whatever... but i just caused myself more stress on an already stressful day. I think that you should wear what you want and not worry. no matter what anyone else says, this is yours and your fiance's day NOT theirs. you make yourself happy and forget the stress and hassle of worrying about what other people think. stay true to yourself and each other and all will be well.

I guess it's just about the over all "look". If someone has spent time and money getting all dressed up and pretty and then they wear scruffy shoes it just spoils the whole look of the outfit. I say comfort takes priority but they should at least fit with the whole look of the dress etc.

I think one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I wore was my wedding shoes. It was a sandal style wedge I found on some clearance rack. Even during the garter toss no one was close enough to see them. I glad I went for comfort over style, I saved myself a lot of money!

I bought my shoes in Ross department store for $20 the day before my wedding-so comfortable, but when I see pictures, they are so ugly! That´s OK because I danced and walked all over the place in them.

IT'S YOUR WEDDING, HONEY. You wear what you want. When my son got married, his wife to be wore very stylish flip flops (white with bling bling). All her attendants wore very stylish gowns with very stylish "flip flops"!!!!!

My niece got married two years ago. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding on a creek bank. She had a beautiful wedding gown and guess what was underneath......a beautiful pair of ostrich skin cowboy boots!!! ONLY IN TEXAS!
