does it then tell the bride and groom who its from? This is my first time to buy a gift like this, and I just sent them a card today congratulating them on their marriage but not mentioning the gift.

No. It just shows how many of the item has been purchased.

When you checkout some companies offer an option to put a little message to the recipient but if you didn't do that you will need to contact the couple to let them know it's from you.

When you purchase the gift you have the option of saying who you are so the couple can identify you. This is also why when you go to the store to physically purchase a gift off a registry they ask for your name. If you don't give your name, it will just show the couple what day the gift was purchased. I believe if you shop online for the gift, since you give your credit card, it will tell them who the gift was from. Also, the gift arrives with a little card from the store you purchased the gift from with the names (that's if you purchase the gift online). If you're still worried about it, give the couple a call and let them know that you wanted to make sure they know it's from you. I know that me and my husband would have been thrilled if people would have confirmed what they gave us. A few of our gifts lost the cards with them and we didn't know who they were from.

I'm a little confused, so bear with me. :)

Are you having the gift shipped to them? If so, you should have the option to include a note from you when the gift is sent to them. I've done this for out-of-town showers I'm unable to attend, and never had a problem with the recipient not knowing who it's from.

If you're asking what the registry will show if you're just having the gift shipped to you (because you're giving it to them personally), then no, it won't. It' will just show the list as "wants" 1 "purchased" 1 or will simply remove the item from the registry altogether.

Yes the bride and groom know who it is from. You will order the gift from their registry, and when you checkout you will get to type in what you want on the card...

When they go and check their wedding registry online, it will also tell them the name of the person who placed the order.

The registry doesn't should who it is from, but most companies put something in the package to let the couple know who it is from. If you are worried about it, don't hesitate to call and let them know to expect a gift to arrive in the mail from you. It won't be annoying, most brides will appreciate not having to stress about who didn't get a thank you note.

It depends on which company has the gift registry, as we've used online gift registries several times and each time got thank-you's from the couple for the gift.

You can usually include a note card from the store with the gift. It will not show up on the registry though.

if you buy it from the macy's registry, it tells them who it's from (which is also kind of annoying). it says it right on the shipping box. but generally, no.

you can get it gift wrapped and they'll include a card with words of your choice.

No, unless you sent the gift to their house and it will ask you to write a note to them. If you just bought it- it just comes off and they don't know who bought what.

I don't think it does, i didn't register at all so am not 100% sure but I think it just crosses that item off the list on line
