If you have colors that match...that could be considered a theme. You don't have to have a *specific* theme...but I hate it when the "ladies" on here say that their theme was "wedding"...because, chances are, they had at least matching colors.

You don't have to have a theme. You can do whatever you want, it's YOUR wedding, that's the great thing about it! I've seen some people use their colors as their theme, but anything like that is up to you. There was a time when no one had ever heard of a themed wedding, lol. I say it's your day, do what makes you happy.

you don't need a "theme" per se, but most weddings do have a style and theme colors. The style is really simple, just explains the formality of the wedding and if any special tradtions are being followed (which can be based upon religion and heritage). The theme colors are generally just the colors of your bridesmaid dresses and flowers, which carry over to other decor, especially at the reception. But a theme isn't necessary.

No, you're not supposed to. The meaning of themed weddings can vary and it's up to each couple what they want or prefer. We did a Fiesta theme because we wanted to save money and celebrate my culture, so that worked for us. For other couples a theme can be as simple as a choice of color running throughout the wedding. Either way you go is okay, the main thing is the marriage itself.

A "Theme" is not necessary. You should have the wedding that YOU and your fiance' wants. The two of you are the only ones that matter in this anyway. Some people have themes because they like something so much that they want to incorporate it into their wedding. I like purple so everything in my wedding had some purple in it. That kind of thing.
Hope this helps

People do themed weddings for a variety of reasons. Maybe they like the beach so they have an outdoor wedding by water and have a seashell cake. Or they get married in the fall and have autumn wreaths for centerpieces...or they get married at Christmas and have snowflakes scattered on every table. Or they like certain colors.
My husband and I didn't really have any "theme" for our wedding - but one thing we did that was cool is for the centerpieces, we made it match exactly my wedding bouquet and that turned out really nice.
It's not neccessary to have a theme though.

I think people with themed weddings just want to make sure everyone notices and remembers. Well, I remember wedding with and without themes. Think a theme increases the cost!
The focus of the wedding is the bride, her special day. The dress, the cake, etc. Do you remember the flowers at the last wedding, etc? Not me.
This is your and your new hubby's special day. It is your decision. Think of a theme of colors, not day at the beach, etc. Think of the joy of walking down the aisle, not worrying about how something fits into the theme.
Ten years down the road, twenty, what you will remember (ours was almost forty years ago) was looking into his eyes, walking down the aisle holding his hand, and knowing I had found the love of my life and now everyone knew it.

Themes are for kids' birthday parties IMO. The only theme a wedding should have is the fact that it's a wedding. The furthest a "theme" should go is matching colors. I've some of the craziest ideas on this website and I truly feel sorry for some of the brides for thinking they would actually work. Let's leave Mardi Gras and Moulin Rouge to the Sweet 16 show on MTV and for high school proms, shall we?

You definitely do not have to have a theme wedding. A lot of people will just have a common thread in their wedding that flows through out. For mine is was sparkle. I am a very sparkly girl, so we had gems on our invites, crystal monogram cake toppers, even our flower petals were sparkley. All of these small touches add up to the big picture.

I don't think you have to have a themed wedding, my husband and I had a snowflake themed wedding, only b/c we got married right before Christmas. You can have whatever makes you happy!
