My son is getting married Dec 1 to a wonderful Girl. His father and I have been divorced 7 years and I have been remarried for 5. My dilema is am I suppose to attend the rehersal??? I know it is required of the grooms parents to pay for the rehersal dinner and I am positive his father is doing this, and his father is also going to be his best man , but is it proper or improper for me and my husband to attend?? My son and daughter in law to be are very ,very close to me and my husband and I dont want to do the wrong thing by showing up or not showing up. More than anything I want to be there but because I am not the one paying for anything I dont know what would be the right thing to do. Any advice would be most greatful...

i'm marrying a lebanese guy, and we're going to have our reception at a lebanese restaurant with lebanese food and a belly dancer! :)

anyway, my family is australian-american and they've never tried lebanese food. they're also pretty closed-minded about new foods.

what should i say to them to get them to try the new food? or is just putting it in front of them and expecting them to eat it good enough?

'Are you sure you know what you are doing?'

By getting married.

We are getting married in June next year, my fiance called his cousin and she asked him to take her off loudspeaker and she asked him the above question.

She has never met me, I am courteous and say to my fiance 'tell your cousin I said hi'

I would not expect a woman who got married only 2 years ago to say this!

But I personally think she is not happy because her hubby works long hours as a manager at Macdonalds (!) while she is a stay at home mom and does not work, she has 2 kids, 3 and 9.

I however, earn my own money and very independent.
I have told my fiance that I do not want her at the wedding if she feels like this!

Well, I'm not engaged, and don't plan to be for....atleast 3 years lol....but I am having an argument with a friend about what a groom can decide for the wedding...

I was telling my friend(a girl) that I wanted all white flowers, and of a few specific kinds. She told me that I don't have a say because it's not about me...

Why is it a big deal if I just ask that one thing?

I'll try to summarize everything. We had to give my fiance's brother a ride to their parents vacation home 3 hours away. His brother told his dad that we were going to be late leaving, because I needed to see my mom... his dad went ballistic. He then told his dad that we'd have to leave their house early so that we could get back to see my mom--he still said no way.

My fiance said that if I went w/him, then we'd for sure come back. At 6pm my fiance told his dad "our dogs are home alone, this is her first t-giving w/out her dad.. and plus her friends dad died". (my dad died recently, my friends dad died yday)

His dad yelled and said "I have more sense than any of you, I'm a doctor and know what I'm talking about. Who cares if she doesn't see her mom-don't put her above us. Her friends dad is dead and it's over with.. and your dogs won't starve over night". This went on for 10 minutes.

How would you feel about this?

We've fallen in love with a restaurant that won't allow us to have a DJ or a dance. We're not overly hung up on the dance but we don't want people to just have a dinner. It's not a large group, just over 50 people, any entertainment ideas that do not involve music?

All my friends send me those photo cards with their children´s pictured on them, and I thought this year I would send them photo cards of my wedding-which includes the attendants.

How does this sound?

I met the girl of my dreams in August 2007 and have been dating since September 1st. I'm 21 and she's 20. Everything is going well, we communicate well, we love eachother, we like the same things and pretty much everything is perfect. I've met her parents and her mom and grandparents love me to death. I've met her dad and have had conversations with him and my girlfriend tells me he does like me. We've talked about the future and we both definitely see eachother getting married etc etc. I've planned a trip for both of us to go on a vacation close to New Years to Montana ( where I orignally grew up at and i recently moved to California in Feb of 2007) I want her to meet my family and see how she likes them and vice versa. By that time we will be dating for 5 months, and I have the whole proposal worked out and I'm going to propose to her in Montana with either writing "Will you marry Me" in the snow, with branches or carve it in a tree and all that jazz. Is it too soon or no? Thx

Ive been with her for 8 months and seven days now. We are quite serious about each other (im serious about her I assure you, and she claims she is about me). We always knew that her parents would do this eventually, but we didnt expect it to happen so soon. We are only 17. She claimed that she would go against her parents when the time came, but at the present she can't, as she wishes to go to university but is not financially stable! She claims if she denies their wishes she will be disowned.

What can I do. I dont want to lose her. I know she doesn't support arranged marriage, and she does not really want to accept this, but at the present she is almost acting like she doesnt care anymore. I cant let this happen, for both of our sakes!

If anyone has any queries about my question just ask. Please, i beg you, i need help.

P.s. if it would help, my girlfriend is southern Indian, a Hindu Brahman Iyengar, her parents are quite religious, and her whole family are strict vegetarians
