I was actually thinking of doing the same thing!! We were married in Nov and I don 't know if I am going to get the pictures in time.
I do not think it's vain- we get lots of card with pictures on them from family and friends in my family!
If you pictures are not winter- use a close up of your faces- pick a romantic one that shows how much you love each other and don't worry about showing off your dress ect....
You can alway slip in a few extra pictures for family and friends that couldn't go that may want to see more.
Good luck!!

Well, I am in the UK we do not send out photograph cards, so I dont know if my opinion counts, or, its an unbiased one! Thinking logically about this, this is the 1st Christmas after you got married, so I dont see it matters if it was last week, last month.... coupled with the fact your husband is away, I think if I received a card from you, it would not only say how much you love each other and wanted to share, but it would also bring home to me, WHERE your hubby is, and why you (A) have sent your wedding piccie, and (B) be a bit more humble, thinking how you&hubby started married life, with him being away serving his country I see nothing wrong at all with this, I see why you are asking, but, I think military families are different to us "normal" ones, that sounds horrid, i didnt mean it to, i meant military families deserve more consideration as you have to live your lives differently, and it must be so hard Send you card, be proud, of both of you your families will keep your card way longer than they will a lot they receive

I think that is a great idea!!! I love picture cards because you have something to save. I've been to many weddings and always want to get a good picture of the couple, but it's hard because they are always so busy all night. I think it would be great...you might consider one of just you and your husband though. Some people may not know all your attendants, unless they are family.

I think a nice wed'g pic of you and your husband only would be a better idea, after all its both of you that are wishing your family and friends happy holidays. On the other hand, most folks would still get a kick of it and it would be fine either way. Matter fact, I'm getting married in June and we are sending a Holiday themed photo as our x-mas greeting and as a save the date reminder. Its nice to see someone who had the same type of idea. Good luck, it will be nice no matter what!

Cute idea.
I was married 6 yrs ago on Dec. 1... why didn't I think of that?
EDIT: I didn't see the part about the attendants sorry.
Send one with just you and your husband.
Really the suggestion just above me is good.

I think it's a bit much- your wedding was seven months ago, and doesn't really have anything to do with Christmas. I don't think cards like this are usually received very well- but of course, it's your choice.

Your attendants might not want to be a part of your Christmas cards. I would suggest sending a card w/that picture to your attendants and a picture of just you and your groom to everyone else. Alternatively, a pic of you & your groom to everyone.

Make sure everyone in the picture is ok with its mass production. My mother-in-law sent pictures of the entire family from my sister-in-law's wedding that I looked absolutely awful on (I was ill the day of her wedding) to everyone on that side of the family and I was totally embarrassed.
