i got married by the prbate judge at the court housemany yrs ago all we had to wait on was our blood teat to come back. We took it to the court house with us and along with $25 and we were married on the spot we left with license.

Not quite the Justice of the Peace. I went to Miami, OK and paid $50 for the license then went across the street to Lavern's Wedding Chapel, paid $50 bucks, and walked out 15 mins. later married. Each state has their own requirements for wedding licenses and their wait time. To check, call the local courthouse to find out their requirements.

No.I got married in a church and it was so long ago but we had to wait about a week after getting the license. While I think the Justice of the Peace is okay for some......a church wedding was my dream and I got it. Some get married by the Justice of the Peace and later down the road get remarried in a church ceremony or a larger one.

It varies by the state. Some are 3 days....others no wait.
