HEY FLOWER!!! You seem to know the bible pretty well, I was hoping you could answer some questions for me.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her? (I'm pretty sure she's a virgin).
3. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
4. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?? How can I help you here?
5. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you
settle this? Aren't there 'degrees' of abomination?
6. Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
7. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their
temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
8. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
9. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help.
I've been waiting for my answers FLOWER! Where are you? Doesn't it appear the Bible is a little outdated? You need to stop with your preaching BS, and leave gays alone.

Why should it be banned? I might not agree with that lifestyle but it don't mean I should ban them from getting married and enjoying all the legal benefits that come with marriage, or from expressing their feelings for each other in a ceremony for all their friends and family to witness. What gives us heterosexuals the right to be on a moral high horse?
Love doesn't discriminate and neither should the law.

In my state there was a vote. (Wisconsin). We are a pretty liberal state and yet Gay marriage is banned now forever. The majority of citizens dont want to recognize this as a legal marriage probably for the same reason you cant marry your sister or your self for that matter. Something about it is not right.

I don't think gay marriage should be banned at all. They are normal regular people just like anyone else. They eat, breathe, sleep, pee, wake up and pay taxes just like everyone else. It also states in the bible "DO NOT judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves. For just as you judge and criticize and condemn others, you will be judged and criticized and condemned, and in accordance with the measure you [use to] deal out to others, it will be dealt out again to you.

I have no good reason why they should be banned. IMO, the government uses this non-issue to stir people up and distract them from ACTUAL issues like the economy, the war, border security, etc.

I don't think they should, I believe that if two people love each other then they should be allowed to make that same legal commitment to each other, it does not harm anyone.

gay and lesbian marriages should be legal. it is flat-out discrimination based on people's religious beliefs that keeps this legalization from happening. people need to keep their own religious beliefs out of secular life.
all of the studies show that kids who grow up in gay and lesbian homes are just as well-rounded as other kids. are we going to ban all "alternative" home arrangements that aren't the "norm", such as single parent homes, homes run by fathers, blended families, etc? no, because there isn't religious discrimination against straight people. but somehow, gays and lesbians are bad people and shouldn't be allowed to get married.
why not let them get married just like the rest of us? it's between two consenting adults, not between anyone else. if you don't like gay marriage, then don't marry someone of the same gender.
