You can get married in a non-denominational chapel, but not by a priest.
Good Luck!

Christened has nothing to do with it, the question would be have you been baptized? If not you are not a member of the church and many churchs will not marry you. Some churches will marry anyone with the fee so contact the church of your choice and see what their policy is on this.

I guess it really depends on the denomination. No you cant if it is a Catholic Church. You could check out a college chapel and hire a notary to do your wedding. My church will rent out the church also if the minister is not performing the ceremony. He will not perform the ceremony until the couple have gone through some pre marital wedding counseling with him which is actually kind of fun. I attend a baptist church. All churches are different but as I said if you have a large college campus nearby then they likely have a chapel if a church like setting is what you are looking for.

Depends on the religion. But I know that if you are a Catholic you will need to be christened before getting married in a church. You will have to give the priest your baptism certificate as proof that you have been baptised or he won't want to perform the ceremony as he is not allowed.

You can't get married in the Catholic church unless you are confirmed, but as far as most denominations of Christianity being christened isn't a requirement to be married in the church. Check with the ministers in your area.

Hi. YES! Don't listen to others that say no. However, it MAY depend on the church (religion) and the particular pastor/minister/priest.
My daughter-in-law has NOT been baptized, but my son was and they WERE able to marry in the Catholic church, much to the surprise of everyone.
However, I work at a Lutheran church and they usually want BOTH the bride and groom baptized.
It really depends. So the best thing to do is to call the particular church you are interested in and speak with the pastor/minister/priest and find out what his/her policy is.
Good luck!

You should consult the paster/priest/minister of the church you want to have the wedding in. Some require you to be a member or to be baptised. Some only require you to take some counseling classes before you get married. Some don't care either way. Call the church first and ask what they specifically require.

I dont think that is needed. I am getting married in a church where my fiance is a member and I am not. The pastor is having us do two classes with him before we get married. I would call the church you are thinking about and just talk to them. Everyone is different.

It really depends on the denomination and the pastor/minister/priest. Every church is different. Find a few churches that you would like to get married in and then contact them to answer your question. It is too general for us to answer! Good luck!

Sure you can. Some churches will charge a fee to cover their expenses such as electricity, cleaning, etc.
I belonged to a church, but chose to get married at a chapel at the lake. That is because as a child, I wanted to get married there.

depends on the particular church...
See if you and your fiance can have a meeting at the church you are considering and see if the priest would be prepared to marry you in thier church.
Some will and some won't.... worth a try
