Grow up and take charge. Its your life. If you still have to hide things from your parents after you out of school then you are not ready to get married.

when you get married part of the fee in the marriage license is to change your last name. you can keep it the same then change you last name later on down the road. you can also change your name with getting married, change all of your ids, cards and what not and then not tell your parents until you are ready.

IF and WHEN you change your name is a matter of choice. But what does changing your name have to do with no marrying too soon after school? Marriage is marriage...it doesn't really have to do with whether you change your name or not.

You can get married and change your name at a later date. You do not have to change your name right away. But why not just tell them you go t married? Don't you think it would be worse to lie to them?

If you choose not to change your name when you get married, you can do so later but you will have to pay to have your name changed. If you definitely want to change your name it is much easier to do so when you get married, and there are no extra fees. I don't know where you are but when changing you name it could cost a few hundred dollars if you choose to do it later.

If your old enough and mature enough to get married then your parents opinion on your (possible) name change shouldn't have jack squat to do with anything.
