I live in the Metro-Detroit area and have a wedding dress I wore 2 years ago that I would like to find a home for. It was worn, but is in great shape. Strapless, white, silk-satin material with a beaded bodice and trumpet style skirt with detachable train. Size 4. I would practically give it away if I knew of someone who had a use for it.

Any suggestions for a place to donate or sell such an item?
Thanks.

Try a consignment shop in your area or good will. You can also try Ebay and Craigslist too.
Hope this helps.

If you don't really need the money, donate it to the I Do Foundation. They're a really well-known charity that takes wedding dresses and sells them. 20% off the proceeds go to the charity of your choice, and the rest goes to the I Do Foundation's fund, which is used to promote charitable giving at weddings.

I would sell it. You can always use the extra money. i sold mine and was amazed with what the buyer asked me. at the time i was selling for a 1/4 of what i orginal paid for. and she said you dont happen to have the recipite for this? i said why she said i will give the total amount of what you paid for it. I was shocked and speechless. so i got the recipite and she said that i found this excet dress and it is going for more than what i just gave you.

Ive never used this, but there is a website called freecycle.org where you can find others in your area who are looking for a wedding dress (or other items).

Nice wedding dress. Go ahead for customizations after enquiring their customer service.

try craigslist.com (free ads), ebay.com, and angelosbridals.com (place an ad) and a consignment shop that specializes in formal wear and wedding gowns

You could think of donating it to a local schools drama program, so they could use it for costuming
