Orchids are very beautiful but you want to order the plants not just the blooms b/c they are very delicate. Orchids do not last long at all and wilt quite easily once cut.

A florist would order them and then cut the blooms from the plant just a couple hours before you need them. You wouldn't be able to see how they are arranged (is this for the reception or for the ceremony?) prior to the wedding or they would be dead when you used them hours later.

If you are local to a good flower market (San Francisco and LA both have great ones) go there during their public hours and take a look at what they have. You can order through them and if they dont arrive in good condition they will not charge you. Should run you around $20 a stem with between 10-12 blooms on each stem.

I'm ordering my orchid blooms online. There are several reputable orchid growers that will ship them to you and sell tyhem in bulk year round from their green houses.

Good luck
