I am looking for a reception facility in Houston that will allow us to use our own people to facilitate everything from food down to flowers. We already know who we will use for these things, so we don't want an all inclusive type place. We would prefer somewhere that we can handle it ourselves and just rent the facility. Any Ideas?

Also if it is out doors or with a view of water that is a major plus.

I'm not sure what part of Houston you are looking for, but here are a few links that may help.

This is for the Knights of Columbus hall, it seems pretty nice and I know most allow outside vendors

Here is Gabby's Hall which is not in the greatest neighborhood, they allow outside vendors with the exception of beverages you must use their bar

Here is the Oleander Ballroom, it appears that you can choose to use their catering or not

Here is Omni Palace

and here are a bunch more listings all in one place.

I would just suggest to start making phone calls and go visit the ones that have potential.

Good luck!

Another idea: You can try universities and colleges. Many have halls they will rent and allow outside vendors. Also, in Houston, you have a few museums and art galleries that will rent space.
