i hate david's bridal. why buy a dress that that they have a warehouse of?

when i was shopping i tried there first and high tailed it out of there. your best choice is to go to a locally own bridal shop and purchase a dress from them. you will have to order it and put about half down.

look for a shop that sells the allure line. her dresses are beautiful!

A regular bridal shop. Look on line at different designer gowns, like Maggie Sottero, Jasmine, Mori Lee (sp) See how much they generally cost. Then, find a bridal store that carries a designer w/ dresses in your price range.

People think David's Bridal is the only place to buy an affordable dress. That's actually wrong. There are many wedding dress labels/designers that have gowns priced at $400-$500. Which is about the price of a David's Bridal gown.

I'm not sure what part of Cali you are in, but I would recommend Dillards. I found my wedding dress there on sale for $250 and the original price was $899. Alot of higher end department stores run great sales during certain times of the year to move merchandise whereas bridal stores do not because they continually offer the same styles. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

Check out Jessica McClintock or look at the smaller boutiques. David's Bridal is horrible for service and experience. Alternatively, you can check out the department stores. Now is a good time as formal dresses are usually on the rack for homecoming, holidays, and proms.

I've also heard that Target.com and Walmart.com are introducing wedding gowns.

Not sure if they are in So. Cal, but both my daughters found their dream dresses at Bridal Classiques. I've heard there is a great wedding dress store on Ebay. The owner lets you try and return even, if I remember right. And, has some original designs. Unfortunately, I don't remember the store's name.

We were quite unimpressed with David's. If you end up there, hope you do well.

I think your only alternative from David's is a privately owned bridal salon in your area. That's my next stop!
I've done alot of internet searching and have alot of ideas of what I like and don't like so I plan to go to a salon and see if their expertise can help me out at all. Here are two sites I found that offered me alot to look at:

Find some of the smaller shops around also. Dresses are always coming in so go to the stock ones. They tend to be priced lower since they want to move those out to make room for the new ones coming in. Sometimes it pays also if you find one you like that is on sale but has a huge price cut and then just have it taken in.

Not sure what's out in California, I'm from Ga and never been out west.

There are other options like Dillards, Belks, JCPenneys' ( where I bought mine )

I looked at David's as well but found nothing I liked.
