Yeah my boyfriend and I aren't engaged yet but we've both decided to go ahead and begin planning. He's in the Air Force so he doesn't get paid a whole lot and we're not counting on any extra monetary support from family.
We intend on getting married in Colorado where I live and our wedding date is probably labor day weekend of 2008. If anyone has any advice for me I would appreciate it. Websites, names of places, anything would be helpful.
We are most likely having our wedding at my grandparents house which is up in the mountains (beautiful area).
So yeah, any advice would be lovely.
Oh and one more question, the wedding will most likely take place outside and thus it's not going to be Church formal, I'm probably having the groomsmen in suits cause it saves money and most guys like that anyways. If anyone has any dress ideas that would be helpful. Guest list is probably going to be around 60-70 people. Thanks for the help!!! Any and all advice is appreciated!

My last bf is getting married to one of my gf's older sisters. He got her pregnant before he's headed to the marines. My girlfriend says it's ok for me to come because she invited me, but she admits her sister doesn't want me around her fiancee. I'm the one that broke up with him because he wouldn't use protection. Go figure. Anyway, what would you do? I like going to weddings.

Me and my fiance are getting married next year. The only thing im worried about is our ceremony. He is a chicano, also a christian. Im a mexican, and a catholic. I have been to one of his cousins weddings and their traditions are different from mine. I am very worried because all my family speaks only spanish. His family speaks some spanish, but not soo much. The thing is, I dont want the ceremony to feel as if we prefer spanish than english. Our families are important to us and we want both to feel included. Should i have a bilingual priest or what should i do?

Please help with the traditions and the language difference. Thank You

I just bought my friend 2 martini glasses, they are hand painted with her wedding date and the couple's name. They were $25 each. I guess you can drink out of them, but they are more for display. They are really nice, but do you think they are too expensive.

I'm getting her another gift as well, I just saw these in the store and they were so nice. I couldn't past them up.

What do I do now? She doesn't want me to marry my fiance because he doesn't have a good enough job. So She says she won't pay for the wedding yet I know she has the money for me to have my dream wedding because when my dad died she got a lot of money from his insurance policy and put some in a savings bond a long time ago and said it was for my wedding one day. I know it still exists because I've seen it but she won't let me use it. And I know legally I can't get it because my name is nowhere on it. But I was really depending on her to pay for the wedding because I really can't afford a big wedding since I'm a senior in college and I graduate in May and I was planning on getting married in June or July. I offered to let her pay for it and I'll pay her back but she said no because she doesn't want me marrying him and thinks I should consider someone more well off! What am I going to do? Right now, I can't even afford to buy a dress!

We've been together for 3 years and he never brings up the future (i.e. marriage, moving in together, engagement, etc)

I never pushed the issue b/c I didn't want to rush something. But, we are past 3 years and still nothing. I try to bring up things like, "So and So, is getting married in 2009", etc. To see if it will spark any conversations or comments. Nothing.

He has an introverted personality and is very private. He internalize more of his thoughts then he does verbalize them.

I don't know what to do. I feel stuck in this situation. I can't read what's going on, in terms of the subject of marriage and future. I can read him elsewhere. I know what he'll say about something before he says it. I know what he'll order when we go out to eat. I know his quirks, his habits and his mannerisms.

But, what he's thinking for the future...............I'm Clueless.

What should I do?

Both of our families know were going to have a renewal of vows. Were keeping the details private. My hubby's family wants us to do it in his home church, so that his WHOLE family can be there. They know I'm NOT a Christian, so why bother? How do we politely tell them, this is a private event, without being rude? Suggestions would be helpful.

This is for a friend from college who's getting married next weekend. We haven't seen eachother in about 2 years. During college, we hung out only a few times so it's not like we're very close or anything. I've been to a reception at the same place before and I think the per plate cost is about $110-120. How much is appropriate to give? ps- I'm bringing a date.

I am not having any bridesmaids or groomsmen. It will just be my fiancee, me and our daughter in the wedding. Does anyone have any ideas on how we should do the ceremony. I was thinking I could let her walk down the aisle right before me (the bride), but I am not sure what song to let her walk down too because if it is only her walking by herself? Also where should I have her stand?

My Fiance and I have finally agreed to get married next spring either in April or May...so for fun I've registered on www.theknot.com and added my guestlist and so forth. Well, I search on google for photographers and wedding venues and I can NOT believe my eyes how expensive everything is. Yes, my dad is most likely going to pay for it but I couldn't imagine saying to him "Dad, I found a photographer and her STARTING rate is $2,000!!!"...Is this realy going to be that expensive? I live in Northern Virginia and the searches I have done shows up so expensive. I was thinking I'll find a wedding photographer for a starting rate of $100 to $500...not $2,000! And don't even get me started on the prices for the venues. This is supposed to be my special day so the only extravagent things I want is my dress (which I've already found) and the venue. On the knot.com is shows 3 dollar signs ($$$) - whatever that is. Plz help with any and all opinions...

My cousin is getting married this weekend. She and her fiance are both 24 and just getting out of graduate school and have asked for cash in lieu of gifts so that they can make a downpayment on a home. I am flying to Cleveland and spending a night in a hotel to attend the wedding (spending about $450). My family is pretty close and I can afford to give whatever I decide (within reason), but I have no idea what the appropriate amount to give in a situation like this.

Are there any rules or guidelines to go by? How much would you give?

We are getting married next year and there is no way we can afford an open bar. There will be coffe, tea, soda and a champange toast.
We are only having 60 guests (including my fiance and me) of family (I come from a big family) and close friends, so cutting the guest list also isn't an option.
My questions is, would you rather be a guest at a dry wedding, where you have no option to drink, or would you like the oportunity to purchase your drinks?
I'm asking because people say a cash bar is tacky, and these are our only two options. Neither one of us want to go into debt by getting married- especially on alcohol!

OK our wedding is this coming June. Well I have picked out 5 bridesmaids and my fience has picked out 3 grooms men. that is an uneven number. Will it look funny? should I take 2 out? how will it work when I'm having them walk down the isle? the 5 i have picked out are all really close to me and 2 of them are flying from a different state, i would feel bad not to have them in the wedding.

Help please.

My wedding is next Sunday and my sister how was suppose to me my matron of honor is not going to be able to do it. (She has a son who is in a wheelchair and she decided that she doesn't want to leave him alone.) I have asked one of my fiance's cousin to come out in the wedding as a brides maid, she said yes. Now my fiance's sister is asking who will be my maid/matron of honor...I really don't want to give that honor to any of my brides maids. Do I have to have a maid/matron of honor?

I have got so much already, the dress, the venue, the date is booked, the groom has his suit, the cars are booked etc

She asked me this morning, 'can I borrow your dress to get married in'

I asked is she was going to help pay for it!

I could not beleive the cheek!

What would be your reaction to a question like that?

Looking for some funny and cute entrance songs for both me and my fiance and the wedding party. Any suggestions would be great : )

I've been thinking about my first dance song a lot lately. For a while I was set on U2's "All I want is you." But I've heard that's become pretty popular and it's very difficult to dance to, both of which make me second guess using that song.

So I started searching for other people's first dance songs or just recommended wedding music, and I came across someone who danced to "Crash," by Dave Matthew's Band. That is very original to me! Not my fav band, but very interesting choice.

So what is the most original first dance song you've heard of?

(Please stick to the Rock genre, or contemporary Pop genre, if possible, or I won't know what you are talking about).

Why don't we just call it a "Wedding Day"? That's what it is!

Why the euphemism? My Special Day sounds like a polite way of saying "The Day I Got My First Period".
