OK our wedding is this coming June. Well I have picked out 5 bridesmaids and my fience has picked out 3 grooms men. that is an uneven number. Will it look funny? should I take 2 out? how will it work when I'm having them walk down the isle? the 5 i have picked out are all really close to me and 2 of them are flying from a different state, i would feel bad not to have them in the wedding.

Help please.

My daughter got married last Dec. and 2 of the groomsmen couldn't make it at the last minute so the other 2 had a girl on each arm. It was great.
The best man and maid of honor walked together.

I have read all of the notes thus far and agree it is your wedding. Which means if you want groomsmen for the other 2 bridesmaids then you should have them. If your hubby to be does not know any more men perhaps you have a brother, a cousin, brother-in-law, high school friend who could fill the bill for you. You should have what you want how you want it. The 5 bridesmaids sound important and don't cut them for something as easy as finding a couple of men to walk them down the aisle. It is an honor to be asked. I think you will be surprised how at easy this problem is resolved. Tell your sweetie what you want, and I bet the deed is done. Another idea if all else fails what about the bridesmaids husbands or boyfriends.

It's not unusual for a bride to have more attendants than the groom. Do what makes you and your fiance happy!

As for having them walk down the aisle, it depends on how your wedding party is going to work. If the groomsmen are going to be standing at the altar already, then the ladies can walk in individually or even two by two with your MOH walking in by herself. If you're going to have the groomsmen escort the ladies, then the last two ladies can walk down the aisle together. Discuss this with whomever will be officiating your wedding. I'm sure they'll have some wonderful suggestions for you.

Good luck and congratulations!

Have the groomsmen enter the side with the groom and have the 3 BM walk all the way down the aisle up to the alter by themselves. There is no need for them to be escorted up the aisle. Another option is to have the GM and the G walk down the aisle in pairs of two up to the front and then the girls, no one will realize that the numbers aren't even and no one ever said they had to be. Good Luck!!!

It won't lok funny. I have 2 bridesmaids, and my fiance has 3 grooms men. Here is what you could do:

Pair up all three grooms men. The give the last two in line two bridesmaids to walk down.

Women/Man/Women

It will look nice. Whatever you do don't kick anyone out of the WP!

I dont think theres anything wrong at all with two of the ladies walking down the aisle without an escort. I am planning my wedding now too and that will most likely be the case for me as well. Bottom line: it's your wedding so who cares what anyone else thinks! Have fun and enjoy YOUR day sweetie!

Of course it's fine. Two women will have to be escorted by two men. Not a big deal. The photographer will just stagger the wedding party in the photos rather than have all women or all men on either side of bride and groom. You shouldn't ask women you aren't close with just to make it even.

It's perfectly fine if there is an uneven number! Trust me nobody is going to say "Oh my god did you notice she had an uneven number of bridesmaids?!"

You have three options:

1. have 3 escorted and the last two escort each other
2. have them all walk unescorted
3. have the maid of honor and the best man walk together, then have the other two groomsmen both escort a bridesmaid on either arm.

It won't look funny at all. You can either have them walk by themselves or have 1 groomsmen escort 2 bridesmaids.

I would just skip the wedding party dance at the reception. Most brides do anyway.

Good luck!

I think it's fine. Have them walk in seperate...like have the men enter from the side or front...where ever groom enters from...have the bridesmaids enter in front of you.

It will be perfect...don't worry about it.

For the reception dance, just tell them all to dance with their dates instead of each other...it will be great
