Chicano and Mexican Wedding?

Me and my fiance are getting married next year. The only thing im worried about is our ceremony. He is a chicano, also a christian. Im a mexican, and a catholic. I have been to one of his cousins weddings and their traditions are different from mine. I am very worried because all my family speaks only spanish. His family speaks some spanish, but not soo much. The thing is, I dont want the ceremony to feel as if we prefer spanish than english. Our families are important to us and we want both to feel included. Should i have a bilingual priest or what should i do?

Please help with the traditions and the language difference. Thank You

Get someone who is bilingual to perform the ceremony. Or maybe you could have someone from the family translate for everyone. I think that would be great because then you would have someone else get to be a part of you wedding and have an important role.

You could also have an interfaith ceremony-2 different people to perform the ceremony from both of your backgrounds. Im guessing you are getting married in a church-if not i would have suggested have one person from each of your families get ordained and then together they can write and perform your ceremony. My boyfriend did that for his bestfriends wedding and it was beautiful!

Bilingual priest or one to do the ceremony in spanish, one in english - I've seen where couples combine their faiths that way. Most importantly, you two should decide together.
