This website is the only thing that has something similar to what I want, except it's for a child, not an adult.

Please respond if you have done this...

I am trying to figure out how many bags/pounds of flat glass gems/vase gems to purchase to make my centerpieces.

Centerpieces will be shallow bowls 6-8" diam with floating candles, with the stones in the bottom.

Like this- http://www.rosemarycompany.com/media/000600-01.jpg
but with the gems in the bottom

Can anyone tell me how many gems they used (apx is fine too) per bowl?

Have the fiancee', dress ideas, and wedding site. Now I need help thinking of a fun reception venue/decor ideas. No 50's diners, no fun drive-ins, all the decor I find is cheesy and cheap. We want more of the retro/rockabilly/50's prom and sexy/sweet appeal. Too much to ask?

Salt Lake City may be pretty limited but there HAVE to be options. Any and all ideas welcome and appreciated!

I am getting very frustrated about wedding arrangements!!! my fiance is german and comes from a VERY large family. I understand that he wants all of his family to be at our wedding but I am a very simple person and do not want a big-to-do which is what his family expects. We currently have a very small budget and so we really cannot do anything big. I just want a dress and my best friend to stand with me, my parents and a couple of close friends there, while he wants pretty mucha nyone he has met since elementary schoola nd 5 groomsmen! he is so very sweet about it and i love that he is actually trying to help with my planning but I don't know how to break it to him that we cannot do all that he is thinking of - and that i dont really even want any of that.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I am getting married march 1 and we are having a small and simple wedding. We are only have about 20 guests, so a dinner for about 30 at the most is what we are trying to plan after the wedding instead of a cake/punch reception. I am not sure what food to have. I want it to be family style and not too formal or fancy. I thought about pasta of some kind but Im not sure. the sauce could be messy? any ideas? I am tryin to keep it cost-effective, but nice. I dont really want any deli trays or anything like that. Just a simple but nice meal for us all.

My husband and I wrote down all the gifts and who got them for us on a piece of paper. I've already sent out thank you cards to anyone who sent us gifts before the wedding but not for the wedding itself. Anyway, we lost the list with the names on it so I have no idea who sent me what or who sent me anything for that matter.

I waited to send out the thank yous because I wanted to wait on pictures from the wedding to get here first so I could put a wallet picture of us in the Thank You's. But since it has been two weeks since we wrote the names down and I am just getting the pictures in - I have misplaced it.

What should I do?

my sister is getting married in february. our parents are divorced and my dad is in a great situation, very financially comfortable but with a new family and raising his wife's kids. my sister has all her deposits due soon for her wedding and had to ask our dad if he was contributing as he has said nothing about it so far. he said he has too much tied up in his business and family to contribute. she figures he is being cheap and doesn't care. they are now not speaking because she feels that since he never paid child support and was a bad father when she was young...he owes her. she is saying she is not inviting him to the wedding. she wants advice from me.........i am torn between the two of them. should she still invite my dad even if he says he won't pay and doesn't care?

Ok, well i had my dad almost convinced to get beer/wine for our wedding reception until his girlfriend told him it wasn't his responsibility...it was the grooms parent's responsibility. Well thats all well and good except my hubby to be and his father don't drink, his mom doesn't drink much either but I do know of some people on his side that would drink wine and beer...

Ok..so we'll have a dry wedding, fine with me, i'll just be providing champagne toast (real and non alcoholic).

Well I don't particularly want a cash bar (as everyone has told me it's tacky).

HOWEVER, his mom said we should have a cash bar, and it's included in the price. His parents are paying for some of the expenses. My dad and his girlfriend agree with the cash bar...just note on the invities or reception card that champagne toast is provided by Bride and Groom but there is also a cash bar available on premises if they would like alcohol.

Asking for a friend:

She bidded and won a wedding gown on ebay that if anything is wrong with it she can send it back

The dress she sees now on there is "prettier" than the first one but you cannot return it at all if something is wrong or whatever.

What would you do?
(She done knows about all that contract bidding)
She is wandering would you pick one where you could send it back (in case something happens) or one that is so beautiful but you can return it?

I've decided to try sewing a simple dress for an upcoming wedding im going to in april. My friend has specifically asked that I wear dress much to my dismay. Im a 35 year old woman with a fuller figure. I thought this style would hide the multitude of sins that have creeped up over the years (plus hide a pregnancy belly). I will be adding length to the dress to hide the scars on my legs. Opinions please.

These past few days didn't seem to be pretty for me. I had lots of fights with Michael,my fiance, because he's been drunk and staying out so late at night. One day, I was driving when I stopped 'cause I saw him in a restaurant. I went closer when I saw that he was with my friend,Christine (who recently told me she was pregnant but won't tell with who). Michael seemed so different now, He had been missing on dates and time with my kids(we agreed we would have sex at night but he did'nt show up) I went to my friends for advice and they told me to cancel the wedding. WHAT SHOULD I DO? WOULD IT AFFECT MY PREGNANCY?(if it would then DO I HAVE TO GO THROUGH LABOR WITHOUT THE FATHER OF THE CHILD AGAIN?(this time i will have a home birth which would be more difficult without him)

Ok heres the deal:
Next week my boyfriend is taking me with him to meet his family because a family member is getting married. I have only been to about 2 weddings in my entire life, and I have no clue what to wear! He said something about semi-formal but I still have no idea! Hes mainly taking me to show me off, but I don't want to wear anything that would give a bad first impression as either too showy, or too modest...
What should I wear?

I'm curious as to what you had engraved onto the wedding bands.

My fiance and I bought our bands today (YIPPEE!) and we are pondering what in the world to engrave onto the band.

This is his band:

This is my band:

SO, what did you get engraved on your wedding bands?

im just wondering what the purpose of it is, is it just like a tangible item to promise someone you intend to stay with them? is it like a promise for future engagement?
