Oh my goodness you need to send these out ASAP usually send out Save the Dates 1 year out and invites at the latest 6 weeks out of couse this always depends on how many guests you are inviting and how far they are travelling. If your guests are interstate/overseas at least 1 year for save teh dates and 3 months for invites. If you have close family/friends only I am sure that 4 weeks will be fine.

It's a little late!!! Especially considering they are getting married during the time when people will be going to Christmas parties on the weekends. Invites go out 6 to 8 weeks before. They are really behind and probably won't get many people attending.

A month ago. They should be sent out 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding and have a RSVP date 3-4 weeks prior. Ideal would have been to send them out early to mid October and have a Nov. 15 RSVP. Now - just get them out and make a Nov. 25 RSVP or something.

I sent mine out a month prior to my wedding so everyone had time to make arrangements to be there. I would recommend a month to a month and a half before we were to be wed. In doing so, it gives them time to request off work, child care arrangements (if children aren't coming) and pet sitting arrangements, with out having to wait til the last minute. It also gives them time to recieve the invite and be able to respond in a timely manner, to be able to let the caterer (or who ever is doing the cooking) time to plan the meals for the right amount of people. Not only getting the amount of people going to bet here on time to them save you money, it also helps so there isn't a shortage of food.

They are normally sent out two months in advance and people are to reply within a month. This is done to give those planning the wedding enough time to know how many to expect and adjust the arrangements accordingly. I'd suggest they send them out today.

He should have sent them out 2 months before teh wedding. That way the guests have time to send back the response cards in time for you to get an official head count and to call back anyone that didnt respond. At this point you shoud have been getting back the reponse cards.
You need to send them out ASAP!!

A friend of mine is getting married early January. We got the invite the beginning of October. I think they should have sent them already, so that the guest have time to reply and arrange, travel arrangements etc. What RSVP did they put?, I think they have left this very late. So it is urgent to send them now. I hope they have a lovely day. "-)

First answer is correct, 2 months notice is normally when they are sent out. Usually showers are scheduled by the people after the wedding invitations are sent to those who are notified. Then the rsvp to you so you will know how many will be attending the reception.

The formal etiquette instructed 6 weeks notice because women would be making gowns for the big event. Nowadays, especially if you don't expect people to travel from very far, a month is ok and still polite. The more you delay, the better excuses your guests can make in order not to come! But people who really want to attend do not need and invitation to start making plans so don't worry!

Wedding invitations should be sent at least two months in advance if travel arrangments need to be made. There is only one month left now and they should be sent at once to allow time to buy gifts, etc.
