How about barefoot encouraged?

You may have guests who are shy about their feet, have infectious foot issues (don't want to spread that around), cold feet (no wedding pun intended), etc. If you have older guests, it could be painful to go without footwear.

It's your day, but you want your guests to be comfortable too.

Typically barefoot weddings are only done on the beach or possible a dock at the beach... but other than that, usually everyone wears shoes.

Its a great idea to have the wedding party to go shoe-less, but dont specifically ask guests to go barefoot. You can spread the info through word of mouth and let the guests decide on their own. Guests dont like to be told what to do... but if you let people like your parents, MOH, etc know what you like, they can kinda spread the word and I'm sure a good number of guests would show up without shoes

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Unless it was on a soft sandy beach, I would not go barefoot. Many people would not want to walk around on hard floors all evening for a reception, with bare feet. After dancing and partying, there would be a lot of very achy feet.

If you aren't having a beach wedding, and you really want to have a "barefoot" wedding...Make it OPTIONAL. You could even give out cheap flip flops to your guests as favors...decorate them by writing your wedding date on the side in permanent ink or puffy paint.

Yes I would gladly attend a bare feet only wedding.

As for hosting one I would have optional cos I don't like to force people to be barefoot.

I am doing this with my wedding though I will be a barefoot bride.

I am...and mine will be bare feet on the beach!

For those who are against it, I wouldn't have a formal bare feet wedding...that is gross in a reception hall with a dirty floor and no shoes! But on the beach and a back yard BBQ is a lil different. The BBQ will be shoes optional.

I hate wearing shoes, so I'd love a bare foot wedding. But I wouldn't expect my guests and wedding party to be bare foot if they were unconfortable with it.

If the wedding was on a beach perhaps. Everyone in my bridal party is wearing closed toe shoes because my fiance has a near feet phobia - which is certainly preferred to a foot fetish.

not me. I don't think it would be a good idea to have a bare foot wedding. If the wedding party is okay, fine but don't ask the guest to be. Some people find feet disgusting and may not attend.

Depends on what you are asking me to put my bare feet on. Most likely I would do it if the area was clean.

I love being barefoot, but I also know there are people who hate being barefoot just as much as I would hate wearing shoes. Why would I do that to my friends? I'm opposed to *any* footwear rule and would never go further than to *suggest* a certain attire for my guests.
