My daughters friend has a daughter getting married. My daughter ask me to go with her to the wedding as she had no one to go with. Should I get the bride a gift?

technically you are your daughters date, so your daughter should be the one giving the gift for the both of you. But if you really want to, go in half with her.

You are never required to bring a gift. But if you feel the need to get the couple something, then either go in with your daughter, get something small or get a card.
