I just bought my friend 2 martini glasses, they are hand painted with her wedding date and the couple's name. They were $25 each. I guess you can drink out of them, but they are more for display. They are really nice, but do you think they are too expensive.
I'm getting her another gift as well, I just saw these in the store and they were so nice. I couldn't past them up.

Not if they are hand-painted works of art as you describe. I bought one of those myself & have in on display. Nice gift & original!

It could have been OK up until you mentioned the wedding date and the couple's name.
Maybe it's just me but I would never display something like that. There will be enough wedding pictures and things without having two random martini glasses. Plus martinis are sort of like a "hip" drink and having that sort of thing on them ruins the effect.
But, it doesn't matter either way. If you've had them pesonalized they aren't returnable so keep your fingers crossed the couple likes it.

I would give them to them before the wedding maybe she will use them for toasting glasses or something. I am looking for some toasting glasses for mine, I want one for each of my party, all gm and bm I want to have one, and me and hubby, but I want all personalized.
25 really isnt that much ifi its personalized and everything.

no thats actually reasonable. my mom paints wine glasses for weddings. she charges more than that. i think they will think its one of the best gifts theyll get

Thats nice! It was a personal gift and will be appreciated. Doesnt seem like too much if they were handpainted.
